Was about to buy all new oem bearings for my 2017 YZ250F bottom end when I found a discussion about cross referencing Yamaha part #’s to SKF bearings. If you take the middle part of the # (6206) , ie 93306-20648-00 is for the main bearings and plug it into SKF the bearing comes up. Not sure if anyone has tried this but it’s a substantial cost savings while still buying quality bearings. Will update when the order arrives.

Thanks for the decoding! SKF is great quality stuff. OEM markup is crazy.

SKF has started making bearings in China, just like Timken so I would be careful ordering online. The nice thing about decoding bearings is the ability to go to a local bearing shop and see what you're buying before hand. Or bite the bullet and order OEM that more than likely are made in Japan.

Very good point on the made in China. Seller Rodavictoriausa on eBay has a good assortment of bearings. I went with Nachi made in Japan. He also has Koyo made in Japan and some SKF made in France.

Koyo provides bearings to Yamaha so they would be OEM.

Koyo and nachi are two quality Japanese bearings. I've cross-referenced ina and fag bearings for the higher quality Japanese manufacturered bearings. Sometimes it works. A good bearing supply house should be able to match up bearings with higher quality units.

Anyone know if there's a way to decode KTM bearings rather than measuring them individually?

Most of them have the bearing number in the part description title on the fiche. Punch that in google and you'll get the dimensions and other manufacturers bearings of that spec.

For example, the left main for a 125 is "CYL.ROLLER BEAR.NJ206 ET2XCS46". Go to google and search "bearing NJ206".

I will look into that! Thanks for the tips.

Beware of piratecopies of SKF bearings, I reckon that's what most cheap sellers end up getting not knowing it.
