Wake up apes! It's happening again...a lot of this could be FOMO because they are reporting that utilization is 100%, which I'm hearing isn't an absolute...
Wake up apes! It's happening again...a lot of this could be FOMO because they are reporting that utilization is 100%, which I'm hearing isn't an absolute indication of a short squeeze coming, but it is one of the ducks that needs to be in a row. I'll be honest, I'm not totally clear on what that is, but here is an explanation.

I bought some options today, in case it moons again. I'm up 50% on half of them.

I’d like to figure out the options game but I’m scared of getting fucked. I’ve tried to research it but normally lose interest before I learn anything.

It’s pretty easy. You buy options on any meme stock it’s a lotto ticket with worse odds than buying shares.

You usually lose a lot quickly (if not all), especially playing weeklies. Sometimes you hit it huge , then you keep playing options and give most of it back anyways. Rinse repeat until you blow all your play money.

Playing options on meme stocks is pretty risky. I’d be willing to bet a ton of people buying them on memes don’t understand the Greeks at all.

Thanks, that’s exactly how I have it playing out in my mind.

You are safer with options that have further out expirations. They don't move as agressively, but they get more expensive as the expiration date goes further out. I've been up big, and I've lost it all. It's a roller coaster. The first time I struck it big on AMC I held onto it too long and didn't execute at the best time. It's just like the casino. Atleast with shares they are always worth something, in theory. Options can expire worthless.

I don't think i've ever executed an option play on a meme stock, usually its much easier/safer to just sell the option. You then cash in on both intrinsic and extrinsic value (if you didnt ride it to expiration)

Oops, I definitely picked the wrong word in that instance. I was talking about waiting too long to sell. I was up huge on the road to $72 and should have struck while the iron was hot and sold to pay for the options that I executed. Instead I waited too long. I executed one option for AMC to get a hundred shares at $20

Next two weeks should be very interesting, with these preferred share dividends coming out we may finally see the hedgies start to gargle our balls.

I'm not too excited about it. There have been so many moments exactly like this for the GME crowd, where they were convinced that we were going to finally expose the shorts, then they were anti climactic.

Boy did I pick a bad time to start selling covered calls. I have been making money doing it over the last couple months, but now if AMC rockets again I have to give up my shares at a little baby profit. Oops.

Basically for those that are unfamiliar with options, I am in a contract to sell 100 of my AMC shares for $17 each by Friday. If it goes below $17 then I keep my shares because the contract is worthless. But if it moons then I'm giving up their shares for $17 each and missing out on a lot of money.

Off topic, but did anyone get in on HKD? Went from $20 to $2,500 in like 2 weeks. Could’ve turned $10k into $1.25mil. Hate I missed that one!

That was mostly insiders driving it up and then dumping it. Currently MEGL is like that but not as big. Those IPO’s are just begging for retail to hold the bag. If you ever get in be quick to sell
