My 10 y/o cased a step up last night and wadded himself pretty bad, scariest thing I have ever seen....I was first on seen and he was out cold and stiff as a board. finally get him alert and moving, then the medics took him in...in the ER they found bruised liver, adrenal grand, possible air pocket on his lung, and severe concussion. Still in hospital being monitored.

Not moto related but BMX related...so kinda moto...LOL

Ah man. Always tough to see people injured, even worse when it's children. Wishing your son a speedy recovery.

they lay that soiltech down on the bmx tracks, and it's like asphalt.
No shit, and I helped lay the stuff, I work there.....and have hit it myself and it hurts.

Thanks guys for the well wishes, sucks he was riding the best he has in a while, high confidence after winning a moto at Grands and now out for a while. There is never a good time for this but Christmas sucks.

But as a racer he said now we have time to strip bike and powder coat the frame.

Hope he has a speedy recovery!

I've found that my crashes tend to come when I'm feeling the most confident, so I try to keep telling myself I suck haha.

Hope he heals up 100%.

BMX bikes have too much HP these days. Something needs to be done.

Praying for a speedy recovery. I have a daughter who's 10 and it scares the daylights out of me to imagine her getting hurt. I hope your son gets well soon.

Take some time off from scooters. Do some RC racing, fly drones, play cards, etc. Let that little ripper heal the right way. They think they are invincible, but we know they are only kids.

Heal up, Champ!

Dang I hate seeing kids getting injured. Too young to have to deal with that kind of stuff. Is that an EVS product behind him. Sorry but it just kinda caught my eye.

That's the spirit kid.... Get that bike powder coated, get healed up and get back on it.
A BMX will take you on a far greater journey than any plane, train or automobile ever will, it will take you on the journey of being a boy to a man.... And then half way back!!!!!

Hope he gets well soon. Listen to the doctors about the concussion and his timeline for return.

Happy holidays.

I got hurt way worse on BMX bikes than dirt bikes.
And BMX was 100 times smaller jumps.

Same for most I know also.

Yup, EVS chest protector, he had a Fly F2 carbon helmet on also.....another one for the wall of fame.

Thanks for all the well wishes guys, I am dieing here at work while him and the wife are there, going to see him tonight, his team manager showed up to see how he was....thought that was cool.

They found bruising in his lung also now he has been throwing up bloody clots from his lungs I guess.

but he is on no pain meds, he said he does not hurt that bad....oh to be young again.

It's great that he's looking at the bright side of things. That's a strong kid you got there! It's always tuff watching little kids go down in bmx or mx. Our local track it pure clay and when you go down on it it's no different than eating shit in the street. We had a kid lose his front end in a fast roller section and went head first into the face of the roller. Knocked out a couple permanent teeth and got to stay over night in the hospital with a concussion and internal bruising. Bmx is just as brutal as mx when you go down. Anyways, Heres to a speedy recovery to your boy and even though this puts a damper on things enjoy the holidays. Things could have been worse.

That sucks, seeing your kid wad it up and lie unconscious must be a scarry thing and I am glad that I have never had that experience. All the best to your son and family. And Merry Christmas.
