Any word on a B-A advancement list? I know last year was a joke, hopefully this year will be better.

Wardy is down south and must not have internet.

My guess is the AMA does not do shit again. There have been so many changes at the AMA that I cannot imagine they could fairly advance anyone.

I am sure there will be many "B" riders not getting advanced again.

I'm hoping they advance them, I'm counting on motofab's kid to be my competition (even though i got my ass kicked by him on a regular basis this year) next year and not the 3 year in a row top B riders. With Kawi contingency being on the line I'm going to actually work for it this time and I might actually do good this year since last year I just got back to riding in the middle of the season.

That is crazy weather. Unfortunately as I am sure you have seen the warm temps caused plenty of problems- flooding , wind damage and all that.

How many miles did you put on , you were in Texas to, right.

I am holding out hope that AMA does get this done. We are set on what classes we are racing but would be nice if a few B riders get moved to A.

Alot of the tracks in Michigan left the District this year. They are still AMA but formed some organization greatlakesmotocross.com

Red Bud and about 6 other tracks. The district is still running other tracks but, It will be interesting to see how the rules play out between the two. Now I need a D-14 card for some and a GLMX card for others.

Seems like advancing the ones who have the points on record shouldn't be that hard. The problem is the numorous ones who dodge the points with mysterious second moto malfunctions and such so they can sandbag another year.

It helps with the Points being kept on the national level now. I think they could do a pretty good job of it. It looked as though it was going to work fine last year until the sign up at Lake Whitney.

I don't think they will ever do anything. I saw some names in the results from Mini O's in the C clas that have been racing since they were on 50's. The sport might fix itself, when I was coming up you wanted to move up as fast as you could, there was no support from anyone back then, and it is coming to a halt now

we did like 3750 miles this last week LOL my butt hurts more then some HS races this season!

national points keeping is cool.

one nice on this process, it's simple. go to the AMA site and check results. Once you see a rider in question, you can see his point average. If that rider didn't get moved well it can be questioned. Once the process is refined it will be a good way to watchdog the system. The Rule book works kinda the same way, riders police themselves to a cetain extent.

Guy sandbaggin and dropping motos on purpose will always be a problem, and one thing I have seen in the 34 years of racing is this. Riders who sandbag like that never amount to chit, and usually end up quiting. they may get a little glory early, but the ultimate "amatuer glory" is "A" class, there you can't hide, and there you either suck it up and show your stuff, or go sit down.

Last year at Whitney was an issue because the powers to be allowed other Powers to be to influence decisions. Those people are not employed anymore.

Advancement can not be influenced by "who" you are. The numbers have to do the talking period. If a rider feels unfairly moved. There is a process for that to be handled.

The process has to be refined. BUT HEY! at least today there is a process!~!!!! it's taken 8+ years to get here.

District 6 (PA) just posted their own advancements. They promised the riders there would be advancements made by the end of the year regardless of what the AMA does. There has been way too much sandbaggin' going on.
Good job D6 !

Glad to hear it! maybe we can go to a local race and have more than 3 A riders on the line. It's not much fun with no one to race locally.

I have numerous e-mails into the AMA asking if they will be advancing riders from B to A in 2009. So far they have been unanswered.

D23 in Minnesota will be advancing riders using the AMA guidelines, from B to A for the 2009 season. Heard it straight from the Chairman's mouth, and we all know what he says, goes.. :-)

Wardy I have a question.....if the riders are not notified by Jan 1st of their advancement does that mean they do not have to advance? From what I understand its the defense they are going to use!! Yes our D6 did advance and great job to all (esp patti toth) for doing that!!!
