Zach Bell?

Edited Date/Time 8/24/2012 2:33pm
Can this kid stay on two feet for more than a few laps or what? He's great off the start but what's the point if he can't make anything of it? I was talking to a buddy and he informed me that he was the same way all throughout amateur racing as well, consistently hurt. Sounds like someone else Ive heard of...Stewart...speed doesn't mean much when you can't show any results for it. Poor kid.

No no no haha I'm saying with Bell crashing a lot he reminds me of Stweart. I can't even judge if this Bell kid even has what it takes. Before he fell yesterday he was in 3rd and faded back to 9th I believe? Then fell. Everyone hyped him up and it's just like man. Tone it down a notch or something and at least finish a race.

Leading some with two holeshots in his first two Nationals, I find impressive. When he bulks up a bit and gets more experience, I think he will be a big factor. They say he only weighs like 120 lbs right now.

Which is one huge factor as to why he's getting holeshots haha bulking up isn't the way to go. He just needs to stop crashing. It's no shocker that he's on the ground, everyone apparently knew it was going to happen because it happened his whole amateur carrer. It's no accomplishment to lead then fade back to ninth before the half way mark. Just saying.

There's a good chance his crash yesterday was partially due to fatigue, it happened around the half way mark. When he gets his fitness up, hopefully he will crash less

Ya he's definitely not a very big guy, and he looks quite small on the bike. But he was hauling yesterday for sure!

Taken yesterday at Unadilla:

You say:
"I can't even judge if this Bell kid even has what it takes."

So you're going to talk shit about the kid and rag on him after only his second AMA Pro National race?
As if "fading back to 9th" in his second AMA Pro National is terrible.
So if some kid doesn't come out of LL's and just stomp the crap out of everyone in their first couple AMA Pro National races, they suck?

As for your comment, "Sounds like someone else Ive heard of...Stewart...speed doesn't mean much when you can't show any results for it. Poor kid."

This x1000.

Just to qualify for a pro national is a feat in itself that 99.9999% or the population will never accomplish. Give the kid some credit. He's got the speed and the skill, but the jump from amateur to pro is huge and very difficult. VERY few riders have done well at their first few nats, not even JS or RC.

Zach didn't fade back to 9th. He slid out and went back to 7th. Then was passed by his 2 Geico team mates with no resistance on his part. I'm sure that was a discussion prior to the race as Zach is not the one in the points race ;-).
And he finished that race...

This is the same dildo on here a few weeks ago bashing every other fast kid coming out of LL to give a major stroke fest to his bromance of Jeremy Martin. I guess he convienently forgot what he said about how Martin was going to destroy everyone including Bell.

Dont get me wrong, Martin did great yesterday for his first pro race. He will get alot better just like Bell. These kids already have the speed, now once they get fitness and some other pieces of the puzzle they will be just fine.

I spent a lot of years at Bell's house. Zach has more Amateur National Championships then you have brain cells. Granted the first two rounds haven't been perfect. The kid is the real deal. He wants to win so bad. I'm sure he is pushing it to outer limits. His Dad knows what he's doing and will get Zach settled down. Zach rode great in the first moto, yesterday. I think to an 8th place finish. I missed the second moto. Looking forward to years of him running up front.

Can you imagine the adrenaline dump when you holeshot your first 2 pro nationals and lead them for several laps. Maybe nerves just got the best of him? I'm sure he'll get it figured out soon enough.

That kid has the speed for sure, hopefully he gets some consistency going too. Putting him under a microsope, his statement about "letting a teammate by that's in the championship" last weekend is the only thing I didn't like. Tomac was on the move & catching him quickly, Bell didn't pull up and let him by, sounded like bs to me.

I agree 100%. I know kids that go so fast you think to your self that there is know way anybody can go any faster. Then they try to qualify and cant make it. The level that these guy's ride at is amazing. Give Zach Bell some time to settle down and get that flow at that speed and the kid will be winning races.

Kids fast for sure but you gotta have heart to finish which based on JUST the first few races doesn't seem to have. Leading Southwick and then falling to pull off, time will tell

Excuse me? Where you at Southwick. Watch the after race interview. Notice that cut above his eye starting to egg up? His vision was blurry. He pulled off and the Asterick crew determined he would not race the rest of the day.
Would have it better for him to "have the heart" and keep going, endangering not only himself but the other riders? Geez.

IMO...This kid has talent and speed...All he lacks is experience...Give him 2 years for Podiums and 3 for national wins. Not yet the time to get excited.

This thread isn't a personal attack, you idiot.

He's just wondering if the kid can keep it on two for a full race - which I don't think he has yet. While it is impressive as hell to qualify and pull a holey, crashing out of every moto won't make a career.

Everything sitting in your living room watching someone else do that most cannot looks different.....look again if you have it recorded.
That's right TIME will tell. 2 races do not :-)
Just think about the crashing this way.... Zach is only about 110 lbs at the most. Going that speed on that bike and being that size takes a lot of control. He will get it I'm sure.

got more mx experience than you'll ever have, worked at Husqvarna for 2 years (press relations mgr and mx team mgr with mickey dymond and danny laporte), developed the RMX and ran the off road racing team (7 years) with Randy Hawkins, Steve Hatch (7 natl enduro championships) raced (contract racer) for american honda and have tons of (started the Valli WORCS offroad team with Bobby Bonds, Kyle Summers and Bobby Garrison) offroad experience where a rider has nothing but heart to finish gnarly all day (not 30 mins + 2 laps) offroad events. From what I saw ( all 110 lbs) he doesn't seem to have the heart, wasn't too upset about crashing. Still stand behind my statement of proving he has heart, time will tell and oh yea...JMO!!

"Just saying" that you are an IDIOT, no make that an F_ _ _ing IDIOT... This is by far one of the dumbest freakin remarks that I have seen on any of the message boards, or moto sites for that matter.

"It's no accomplishment to lead then fade back to ninth before the half way mark" - What class do you race? How many nationals have you qualified for? How many amateur titles do you have? and what Factory support team were you picked up by before going pro? I do not normally spend my time replying to posts on the message boards but you sir suck ass and for this I felt the need to say something!

Since when is falling - Fading? I have watched both of the Bell brothers race against my son through the years and knew from the first few times that they had a gift just as the first time I saw Dean Wilson race transitioning from a mini to the 250's.

You should be taking out a full page add to express your regret towards the stupidity that has been displayed on this site as well as personally saying sorry to Zach.

Ok, yote.. I am impressed with your resume. But you left out the part of your personal knowledge of Zach Bell and his "lack of heart". If what you stated above is true, you should be the first to know that what is seen thru a television screen, can't tell what is going on with his injuries or other issue's..

So for now, I'll still stand behind my statements!
