Never heard of this until seeing this thread on a bmx site....how sweet would that be? The DG thread got me thinking about it, here is a rare Redline (Chatsworth California) XR frame and swingarm setup. Anyone here have one? Or even seen one? Sweet setup!

Redline Engineering was around for a long time before there was a Redline BMX. Redline Engineering was my first job after welding school. We were building Short Track frames using the Can-Am 250 and Yamaha 250. They were just designing the first BMX bike, with suspension, before they learned that it didn't really work. I was so low on the totem pole that they only let me weld chromoly brake pedals (right side). Lynn Kastin and Mike Konle were the owners. Phil Haskell was the resident contract visiting super welder. It was on Parthenia St. In Northridge Ca. I learned stuff there that I still use today. I've got more to tell, maybe sometime in the near future.

I saw this back when Jeff Ward and Brian Myerscough were racing Minicycles.

I can't remember what Honda Team Jeff Ward raced for at the time but those were some badass machines.

Had one! Bought it about twelve years ago, stumbled upon it for $250.00. Relunctantly sold it two years later for $1250.00 to fund my Johnny O Mugen purchase. Kinda felt guilty but figured it would cost me a grand to ever get another one. Three months later I saw it on Ebay and it sold for $2750.00. LOL

The Jeff Ward frame kits were built by C&J. Not many of those out there for the XR75's and most of the Mini Elsinore frames ended up in my garage.....my dirty little addiction. PK Racing made complete XR frame kits as well. Anybody want a perfect replica of one of those, I still have a few.

Found one at Vintage Days in Mid-Ohio and the guy said he would take $1500 for it. My buddy said he would think about it, looked at one row over and he decided he would buy it. Walked back over and it was sold! He still kicks his self about that.

Cropped.

Fun fact. I was actually the Redline team manager for a while in the mid-80s. Interesting gig, but the Lomita to Camarillo commute was a bit much...

Kinda off subject but since BMX is in the title. I just picked this up yesterday. Have been looking for one since mine got stolen many many years ago. Actually I remember it like it was yesterday but that's another story.

Anyways here she is, a 1996 GT Auburn CR-20RX in amazing condition.

I remember when Lynn started Kastin bikes and made that single blade BMX fork that didn't hold up to well.

If it's a 96 it would have been GT, a few years earlier and it would have been a freestyle guy and a former SE Racing salesman.Wink

She's a beauty. That was my first bike, but I was 6 and it was way too big, had to bump down to a MR50.

I beleive it was Todd Huffman of MX Files fame. I thought Bob Morales of ASV fame was involved as well, but he may have had Dyno haven't thought about this stuff in a long time.
