I was happy to see a photo shoot TWMX did with Katie McGuire and then when reading the caption they said something about being surprised she agreed to bring her bikini out...
Come on, really? Ladies out there (all three or four of you), what do you think of this? Isn't it enough to show her pics on the bike? Why did TWMX have to go to the bikini shots? Especially the "stick your ass out, shot from behind" pose? Granted, it was her decision to do the photos, I would have rather seen them focus on her riding.

I can see it from both sides. As a female rider, there are many people out there that have a difficult time seeing how we could have a feminine side, be "sexy", and still ride bikes, so posing in the bikini could help to showcase that. On the other hand, however, I also see how it takes away from the point of showing that there are some very fast girls/ladies out there, and things like that could make it more difficult for the ladies to be taken seriously.
And there are examples of male athletes posing semi clothed or what not but it really is different. It's the poses, the submissive side of the woman being portrayed, searching for a man's acceptance. Its not about them being a powerful and gifted athletes.
I'd rather their riding be able to speak for them. I guess I have dated too many feminists or maybe it's because I have a daughter.
Now STFU noob.
I'll call Katie, and ask her why....be back soon !
My point is, is it the right image for the WMA?
As I caught her on the phone, she is on her way to Riverside (CA) to do more testing on the Aprilia...She is racing the Vegas to Reno, aboard the V-Twin.
Pit Row
You know, with stuff like this, it is easy to see why Maeda's mag has 60% of its readership under the age of 18.
I just want to see these women respected as riders and for their accomplishments on the track. That's all. I have nothing but respect for anyone that races, guy or gal. I just hope this isn't the start of a trend. I'd hate to see a "Girls of WMA" calender or something...
I simply yelled NICE PICTURES !
She cracked up for 90 seconds. Katie, is a very secure, woman... But shy when you first meet her.
She was my Link when her boyfriend, also a friend Matty Dowell, was comatose. She was kind enough to call me daily as I posted facts about his condition.
Katie, is very approachable, as is her father Kirk. Talk to her if you see her, you'll find a really cool friend.
Matty, is well on his way to climbing back on his YZ450F, I talked to him on Saturday. No Doctor release yet, but maybe in a month or so.
I didn’t say you would become gay, I said we would be gay. I may be a noob, but at least I have an elementary grasp of the English language..... And I’m the Moron? I am very secure; you my friend are the one that seems to have issues. No matter how you may wish, I wasn’t the guy you kissed and gave you a rash in camp…… let it go
Now you STFU
I'm glad she felt she could do it.
Just be lucky we are not back in the Victorian era.
Oh ya, I like the pics!!!!
I'm glad to see the military has done nothing to hurt your resolve to fight for barely legal girls' right to have themselves exploited by a magazine editor to further issue sales (or page views in this case).
