I think James will be solid under presser, more so than in the past . I think he will dominate most of the races! Let's be real! The main reason he played catch up from the start last year was because his bike wouldn't fire after he and Reed went down at A1. He's got a fuely this year and that wont happen again. jm2cents

He probably can still be pressured into the occasional mistake but I doubt enough to lose the championship.
If Reed, Rv and Dungey are fairly evenly matched they could get caught up battling each other and lose sight of James quick.

Everyone keeps acting like its JS vs everyone else, like if someone beats James then its a win for the "everyone else team". You got to remember that "everyone else" will be racing again each other as well. I see RV and Dungey beating each other and Reed more than i see them beating JS. The top spot will be held by JS I think 80% of the time. 2nd thru 5th will be divided up between RD, JG, RV and CR with an occasional AS or JB. I think to expect JS and CR to go 1,2 all year long is a pipe dream. Lets face it, no one on their best day is faster than JS on his best day, so that being said the better the competition the better it is for JS to pad a huge points lead. I see lots of 3rd 4th 5th even 6th place finishes for CR this year, same with all the other tops guys. JS will still get lots of 1st's. I see the points race being over with 3 rounds to go.

Everyone of the riders will have their days they can challenge him, but I see him having an advantage: raw speed at every round.

What are you talking about. The kid made more mistakes in that race then I've ever seen him make. Luckily for him RV was the only one that stepped up....Such and such along with such and such and such and such will put plenty of pressure on him and he will crumble. He'll win 10 races but the 7 races he doesn't win he won't be top 5 and the title will go to one of the 3 such and suches.

Every King gets replaced and knocked off there thrown eventually. Will this be Stewart's year to be overtaken by a new King? I don't think so but he will not win every race. I would probably bet on that. RC retired before being taken over by a new rookie up and comer and I think James will probably do the same years down the road. I think it's going to be a great Supercross season though-just hoping all the top dogs stay healthy and finish a whole season. That's the tough part there.

x2 I'm crossing my fingers that everyone survives the off season,the over seas SX's and the Aussie super-x healthy and ready to go at A1.. We all saw how quickly the top dogs went down in the outdoors this year.

James is a clear cut above all of those guys. RV & Dungey will obviously improve the most from where they currently are , but I don't know if either of those guys are going to be the SX rider that Reed is.

That said, yes, there will be situations when they have the chance to pressure James, but at the end of the day it will be what James leaves on the table for them to take advantage of. Last year, after A1, James was in an interesting situation, but was able to dig himself out of it without too much trouble.

I hope it's a great season, but RV, RD, JG & Reed, etc have their work cut out for them.

No, Stewart is till his own competition, and he's gotten a lot better/smarter/more mature about not beating himself. After Seattle last ear, he seems to be in a place where he doesn't have to win every race and he's less likely to have 09 A1 incidents that set him way back in points.

I think at least RV and Reed will win races (not sure about Dungey), but when the opportunity presents, not so much straight up. Not a dis against either of them, they're both great competitors.

IMO JS7 has the most natural talent of the riders we are comparing.
I think the other boys wont let it be a walk in the park for him in 2010, they have what it takes to be in the mix all season long.

They will be able to pressure him into mistakes but only if they are infront of him. (Read: they probably wont be able to match his speed) However, If he gets a bad start it might take all of those 20 laps to make moves on those 4 guys. And Inorder to make those passes he must be flawless, I think if he get his rythem rattled on his way to the front he could get frusterated that hes not getting by them as fast as he needs in order to win James style; which is out front and compfy.
