I am looking at trailers. V-nose or flat? Does it really make a noticeable difference? Help MPG?

Not in my opinion, but maybe my V-nose was 6" taller that standard, so negated any aerodynamic benefit.
It was nice to stand up straight inside, though.

I think finding the lightest trailer is the biggest benefit.

No idea on the physics of pulling but why not maximize the interior space with the V-Nose? I've got a flat front Haulmark and my next will be a V.

V. With a drop down door. 7 foot inside height, if you can't pull it, get a better truck.

If I had the choice, I'd go with the V-nose for the extra space. Build it out with a work bench and shelves/cabinets in the v area.

Depends on what you are towing it with? If you are towing it with a truck that has a standard bed height then the V is the way to go. If you are towing it with a motorhome, full size van or freightliner then it doesn't matter as the wind goes right over the top of the trailer. Peace.

I need to get a pic of it now that I have the lift installed in the garage. 4 bikes up, 4 bikes down. And I set my crew cab F-250 up as the tow behind vehicle. Never know when you need to haul extra junk, just throw it in the truck.Smile

Garage only has an 8' x 8' floor area and I need to haul 6-8 bikes. Ceiling heigth was enough to work out just fine. Had seven bikes in it for the Houston SX.

Its time to retire the old Silverado and get a newer lower mileage Chevy to haul it with. Havent decided between another Silverado, Tahoe or a van.

For what it's worth, if you plan to travel quite a bit, especially long hauls, look into an aluminum trailer over steel. I wish I had purchased a featherlite or similar. That will definitely be my next trailer, just so much easier to tow and mpg, holy moly!

I'm selling my Pace 6X12 flat front that I have had for years. When I pulled it with the F150 hardly knew it was back there. Pace makes an excellent trailer and I have been super happy with it. I have heard the Vnose can be a pain in the wind but I don't know as I have never pulled one.

I would go for a dual axle if you will be using it a lot and or long trips

Great advice! I've had flats but still been able to go far enough to change it safely at a rest area or the next exit. I once blew two on one trip and got home on three wheels. Dual axle life saver.

Featherlite is the best you can buy.
