Went out trail riding for the 1st time in 20 years. Langhamm took us to his secret location. What a fun ride but not really set up with the MX bike. It was a great way to spend the day with my youngest son on his 22nd birthday. Some rocky creek sections were gnarly but fun and the canyon downhill took us awhile to figure a way down. Great single track, ridge and switchback riding. Thanks Lang we really enjoyed the ride

Trail riding is the best! And anyone that says its "boring" isn't going fast enough!

Glad you had fun!

I just picked up a plated 450x and rebuilt the whole bike. Ive ridden tracks for the past 20+years and switched over to single track. Let me tell you its a freakin blast.I ride with a bunch of guys that all have dual sports and it brought back the reason why i ride...to have fun! Nothing like being 30+miles out in the middle of no where and no one around with epic trails and fun stories with the friends.

Oh yes trail riding is good for your soul and it is not boring out here in Arizona anyway.
90% of the shrubbery has a needle just waiting to stab you if you make a mistake either that or BOULDERS, sometimes both take your pick! Woohoo

Or, not riding difficult / demanding terrain.

On my 500 2t ( yes, many will regard it as somewhat inappropriate for extreme / tight terrain, but, it's a Big, Cuddly Teddy Bear with endless torque for the seriously tight / nasty stuff) , I think I rarely get over a 1/4 throttle, through most of my local rides.

The Young (40yr old) bloke across the road from me has just got a late model KTHusky 450 Enduro. He's asked me to take him on my local rides, but, I'm a bit 'iffy' about it at the moment. He works for himself, has 2 little tackers - 1 brand new - and I don't want to be part of him getting hurt, especially in these strained times. He claims to only ever being an 'average' rider - well, that's better than him thinking he's a Pro. Much of the stuff I've ridden here for decades , is starting to scare the crap out of me ( I've started to look over the side of the cliffs I'm inches away from Unsure Shocked Blink ) , as my riding has been limited by 'to be repaired' injuries, and, I'm becoming ever more 'gumby' in my riding.

So glad you guys made it out today, great to see you guys and hope everyone had a good one. Sorry about the rock waterfall, I felt bad ! But no broken bones, so.... there’s that ! Lol

Please come back soon, it’s a great way to social distance from the rest of the world !

You missed the last loop, it was a little gnarly. Especially on a MX bike. This is a pic that Kelsey took when we were able to actually stop. Pic dies no justice and the previous 300’ of this canyon was almost vertical. No time for taking pics, until we came to this point. But I’d be glad to show it to you next time ! Lol

Anyone recognize the guy with his helmet off ? He did really well on his MX bike, good times today.

It was a good session of Social-Moto-Distancing with all of you guys.

I can't even expalin what an epic time I've had riding with all of you, today. My 450 was a bit of a handful in the really tight stuff...but, overall...I was blown away at how well it preformed in all the single track, technical sections like waterfall "climbing and traversing"(there were a few of those) of-course Kevin's Trail Thru Hell (pictured with me taking a break and sweating my ass off)...yup, my SXF did it all pretty damn well.

That picture doesn't expalin the insane 'Vertical Challenge' that the canyon truly was. It KICKED my ass.

I look forward to my next ride with y'all when I'm gonna wisen up and bring my Husky 350.

Thanks, again!

We have some great trails close to home. I can be there in 7 minutes. Great to have these so close. Makes it easy to get a ride in after work.

Oh there were billet guards on at the beginning of my ride. Lol
I snapped off the bolts in the frame that hold them on. It was a boulder fest coming down the vertical descent.

I got these pics sent to me this morning by a friend that went searching for our trail we broke in yesterday. These guys are in their late 60’s and still as gnarly as it gets !

One the most hardcore groups of single-track trail riders I've ever gone out with were 75% 500 2T riders. These guys rode some seriously gnarly stuff and claimed their 500's were perfect for it.

Those look like some awesome trails. When you get that radiator patched up, check out these Enduro Eng braces. They are amazing when the the trail comes at you! Woohoo

I know quite a few older guys that still absolutely shred their old KX and Cr 500s, and I’ve spent some time on them myself. Most people assume that they’re unridable, but that could not be further from the truth. Throw on a flywheel weight and use some throttle control and you’ve got a gentle giant that refuses to stall and will tractor up pretty much anything you desire, as well as be the cheapest bike you’ve ever owned maintenance wise.

Those are good braces, I’ve used them in the past. I e been using the bulletproof designs with great results. I broke the bolts off in the frame on this one, but the EE braces might’ve kept the radiator from getting pretzeled.

It was planned, my buddy has been working on it for a couple weeks. He wanted to “burn it in” But it’s the type of canyon that a lot of people wouldn’t consider going down.
The fact that our 60+\ almost 70 year old friends went searching for it this morning gives me hope of many years to come. Lol
Buying this property is one of my best purchases ever !

I own some land with a couple hundred other land owners out here in So Cal. We have a land owners group and we ride the 1000’s of acres of single track with permission within our group.
Some own 2-1/2 acres, some own 200+ acres. It’s pretty damn awesome !

Got it. We've done similar things in the same area but it's nothing we planned on doing, and I surely wouldn't want to go back and do it again. I would rather ride the plentiful terrain in that area than carry bikes down the rocks all day.

We hit the old Honda Valley area Sunday. Luv all the singletrack, up and down rain ruts out there. Some great riding in our last session only to come back to 40,000 idiots where we were parked.

Fyi, the Joshua is no longer open for parking for those who know...

I live close to downtown. We’ve been riding these trails for 40 years. The area keeps getting smaller and smaller but we still have about a five mile loop. It’s a great loop with great dirt. It’s highly illegal. I have the surfer mentality. When you have a spot like this you have to keep it secret.

Whenever a buddy calls/texts and says they are going to "burn in" a new trail...that means its going to be an exciting day!

"Burn in" parties are the best!
