The WMA is on the track now. I guess that answers my question whether or not any of those gals could qualify in either class. Way off. They are still fast no doubt but nowhere near the speed to make it this weekend anyway.

Thats kinda backwards aint it? Don't you race to get a ride?

well no... not necessarily, for instance Blake Wharton is riding for Geico Powersports Factory Connection Honda Racing and PJ Larsen and Hunter Hewitt are on Motosport Xtreme Team Green Kawasaki

but you are right... Ben Lamay is riding privateer for these 3 races and so is Steven Clarke (kinda) with the aim of getting a ride for next year

i suppose it depends on what you are after.... Durham obviously believe that his LL (and other amateur) results were good enough to get a ride so he's effectively 'holding out'

Obviously the teams don't see it that way or he would already have a ride. In todays economy I don't think holding out is a very good idea. But I guess we will see if it works out for him. What happened to the YoT ride?? You'd think they would be all over him with no one under their tent right now.

well i don't know the ins and outs of the situation.... i just know these are the current standings.

i'm sure he's got people telling him all sorts of things, but hopefully it'll all work out and he'll be riding soon. meanwhile we've got a decent amount of amateurs who are riding so let's support them Smile

Just got back from the track.

Its the smoothest I've ever seen Southwick. Turns are all pretty flat and track is kind of one lined unless your James Stewart.

A couple guys on two strokes trying to qualify, they had to be top 50 fast, they were hauling, doubt they will make the race.

I'm calling a De Reuver 2nd overall and cooper 3rd. Dowd was looking better than last year, probably fast enough for a top 10. James is light years ahead of everyone else, I love watching him ride. The geometry on the bike looks far from stock, its amazing the lines he can make.

right on Marc.

gp's are 5 mins longer, so thats 2-3 laps, and on the roughest track of the year, MdR came back to take the win in race 1 and fell down in race 2 while comfortably being in the lead.

don't think his fitness will play a role!

It's only Saturday practice. Don't read too much into it.

You can't practice in one class and race the other. He's normally a 250F guy.
