Good article, except that it is not classy at all - pathetic - not to talk about CP, who has by far the biggest pedigree / number of WINS. Yes, some riders may do as much damage, but one of the first things in "journalism" is integrity, objectivity & to verify sources. Geoff has been clicked for less than that, it would be like talking about the GP favorites without even mentioning RV ! ...

Could be because the article was about privateers. CP hasnt shown any inkling that he is willing to do it the privateer route, atleast not publicly. He wasnt at straight rhythm or monster cup like all the other guys who got a run in the article. If he was im sure he would've atleast got a mention.
CP is an out of work factory guy, the others are "privateers" at this stage
It seemed to be an article about guys who need teams and how there aren't teams. Top guys like Kyle Chisholm, Brett Metcalfe, Josh Hill, Jake Weimer, and Malcom Stewart.

Common denominator there? They all raced either straight rhythm or monster cup or both as privateers. Pourcel did not. He's not a privateer at this stage unlike everyone else.

Yup, I did not replied yet to the other email to re activate my old one.
By the way, I did not get the reason it was clicked at first - the only other one I saw clicked was geoff who was regularly posted his links to get more clicks on his website, which is not my case.
Here I am sorry if it is one of your friend but the article is not neutral, what is your thought?

Question (Louis), I think it was a very good article by Weege about the plight of guys who might be left out in the cold come 2015, but that said, it should have included Christophe Pourcel. I think Weege was just working off guys who used those two events -- Red Bull Straight Rhythm and Monster Energy Cup -- to make a last-chance impression on someone. Christophe did neither, but if I was a 450 SX team manager, he would certainly be under consideration. He's never really gotten the chance to show what he could do on a 450 inside a stadium, and after what he showed this summer, I know he still has the race craft to do some great things.
He's still one of the most interesting stories out there. I am pretty sure Weege did not leave him out on purpose, he was just not at those events...

Does CP want to race Supercross ? Seems like someone would already have him signed up if so.
Ok, sincere apologies DC (& to Weege), I may be a bit too sensitive since we are having threads & threads on these riders (& CP, brotocross show, Gator around here, etc)... I must have read it & reacted too quickly as I did not see it was regarding riders who raced recently (& did well)... my bad.
Nothing against Weege, I always like him presenting the Nationals too. The article indeed was demonstrating that some teams were missing in the pits, that the musical chairs were pretty tough this year and that it is getting more & more complex to get outside sponsors (the B2B part)...
So what's going on with Freddy Norén when speaking about privateers? He was supposed to be on a factory Honda at MEC but had to sit out due to a concussion. He was on that same factory Honda out at Milestone today. Is the deal still on?

I asked him about it around two weeks ago, and they're still working out the details of how much help they could provide. He seemed very positive and sounded like Honda was trying to provide him with more than he originally expected.

Good stuff. There where talks about both Geico and Crossland. Geico seems like a far fetch, but if Crossland/Motosport are going to haul Albertsons bike to the SX races, they might aswell bring Noréns too and some side support from Honda would be perfect. He seems to enjoy being back on that red bike.

I hear Crossland is talking to a lot of people. One for sure mentioned in the article.

Well, if everything goes as planned, he might be under Honda's own tent.

Do you think he can get up to speed in SX in enough time, or period?
You might find differing opinions on whether that was a "good thread" or not, depending on who you talk to.
The question was posed earlier as to whether Pourcel actually wants to race SX in 2015. Without trying to start another arguement, I still think that if Chris was interested in keeping his name in the pot for potential sponsors...he would have put together his own deal for the MEC at the very least. He wouldn't have even had to have won a race. Just the fact that he suited up and showed up would say tons about him. The fact that it doesn't "mean anything" points wise doesn't keep it from meaning a helluva lot as far as exposure goes. I'll bet a LOT of eyes are on Hill that might not have really looked at him before, and I bet his level of sponsorship rose drastically as a result of his showing at MEC. And, although he might or might not get a full-boat ride by A1, you can bet Malcolm Stewart is on more lips than he was before MEC. These guys, in my opinion are not on the same talent & skill level as Pourcel is...and I have a hard time believing CP is broke. Seems to me that if he really had a heart for proving that he's worth the investment from American sponosors, that he'd have found a way to be behind a gate there.

OK? You pretty much say you disagree with me ( out of habit I guess? ).....and you just posted almost every reason I did in my other thread. Just worded it differently. Sheeesh.

Cheers, that way we can go back & forth about CP on the exact same points all over again
Actually we should meet in non CP related threads, maybe we would agree more often !
