RMZ WiFi Tuner

Apparently RMZ's have had WiFi tuning capability for 2 years now, but it's nowhere to be seen on US models. I wonder why?

WiFi tuning but no electric start is confounding from a marketing perspective.

Why wouldn't they offer that worldwide? Seems stupid to only offer it in certain areas and have 2 different systems. Doesn't seem cost efficient either.

Wow never knew that! Sounds like it is the 2020 RM-Z 250 only.

MX Tuner 2.0
Standard with every new MY20 RM-Z250 purchased, the plug and play MX Tuner 2.0 allows users to alter the engine mapping via the intuitive smartphone WiGET app, available on iOS and Android devices.

The WiGET app comes with several pre-installed factory settings for easy tuning for different riding styles and track conditions. For the more experienced tuner, the possibilities are practically endless with the ability to create fully customised maps with specific settings for 36 points of ignition timing and 36 points of fuel injection delivery.

I can tell you exactly why: Suzuki decided not to import that item as an accessory. They must have felt that the expenditure was not worth the number of sales they would generate.

Each market has it's own regulatory bodies for licensing/certification of wireless RF devices with different regulations. This is one major potential pitfall of producing this sort of device versus a plug-in tuner.

They have sold 6 bikes in 2020 so it didn't make sense to import the WiFi component.

That's an exaggeration, but you are very correct. They estimated how many bikes they would sell, calculated how many of those buyers would want one, then weighed whether or not to import them based on the minimum order from Japan. My guess is that offering the tuner in the US would have cost Suzuki America money rather than made money.
