I would highly recommend sending your head and cylinder to Pro Circuit, Mitch developed some great porting for that motor! Not enough heads and cylinders to go around for these bikes anymore to risk getting a shoddy port job done. There really is a science to it and Mitch came up with really great porting specs.

My forks are Factory Showa Honda 49mm spring forks with magnesium caps and various titanium parts. 58mm/59.3mm are the required triple clamp size. Tokyo_Tiddler posted excellent information about his forks which are close to what I have (I believe a generation or two behind mine). I suggest you refer to his post for more detailed info.

All this talk about whether to not any of us can ride a bike to IT'S fullest potential? Who cares? I want a bike that feels so light and well-designed and comfortable it allows me to ride it to MY fullest potential. I've ridden and owned pretty much all of them, and none of them feel similar, let alone the same. Yes, you can get used to anything, including a bike that's the worst in it's class, but you'd have to admit - buying one while knowing that, is a peculiar decision to make.

Rule of thumb is, they always make a major model year change right after you decide to take one home. That way the regret comes out of nowhere and hits hard! I've been there a few times.
