So let me get this right. Cianciarulo got Salmonella (a foodborne bacteria infection) from over-training and home schooling, and Webb has surpassed him even though Cianciarulo has not raced yet?

Wow, this is a pretty incredible post, and whatever school you attended is not one I will be sending my kids to any time soon.

I don't know what the fuck that means, but I completely agree with your statement.

Understood, Pro. But, let me just say that in the many years I've been hanging around this place and it's predecessors, this was one of the most misguided attempts at starting a thread that I've witnessed.

No drunk posting please.

Oh, and you might want to rethink your username. It's a bit pretentious.

I am not buying the drunk posting excuse. The spelling and punctuation are a bit too good for some who allegedly tinks and drypes.

Eh, maybe he just meant a strong buzz. If I'm anything short of shit faced I can still color within the lines (proper spelling and grammar), I'm just coloring some ridiculous shit. Maybe not as ridiculous as saying Cooper Webb is better than AC because he went to public school tho lol

What he was saying is that the public schooling offered Webb the proper balance for success over the full on home schooling-training-potencial burnout route that AC took. I think it was a legitimate post Pro and a worthy topic for open discussion, just not with these mean sonavabeeches

That would be a discussion worth having, but it wasn't really what he said. He was basing his idea off the first two rounds, where Adam has had illness that I think we'd be dumb to contribute to home schooling and over-training. Let's let their careers play out a little more before we try to conclude if public schooling is actually in some ways more beneficial to young up and comers than the home school option.

I didn't see the original post but that is a good topic of discussion. AC is betting the farm that he will be able to be successful at racing but for Webb it probably wasn't as much of a job for him growing up so he will be less likely to get burnt out on it and more likely to succeed at life in general....BTW it's way too late now but if they could require a real high school diploma to race pro it would at least give these guys a better shot at succeeding in life after moto.

You are probably right....but I think that is what he was trying to get across.

I personally believe that we are going to see an incredible breed of racers in the next few years when the MTF (or similarly) bred riders reach maturity. There will be exceptions of course but it will be hard to compete with someone who has AC's talent and program from such a young age.

One thing they should look into is changing the name of the amateur class from "schoolboy" to something more appropriate Smile

Agree with that. Like most sports only a fraction of these mini moto kids will ever make a dime off the sport and with the very weak attempt at home schooling that many of these kids are receiving it is going to be hard for them to succeed if the racing career does not pan out

Not here in San Diego....a HS grad will never work the front lines at Macs unless they are bilingual

Kenny, I agree that the topic of home school vs. public school is a worthy topic, but you obviously did not read his original post.

I was half asleep when I read it but thought this was what he was trying to get across, and then it dissapeared. Was he more concerned with AC being sick and on the sidelines from home schooling? If so I apologize for trying to come to his defense Smile

Haha nah I don't think it was a travesty like it was made out to be. Just a dumb argument, I guess, but it will be interesting to see how Coop and Adam's careers play out with the different schooling. It won't be a definitive answer though, every rider's different.
