"The motocross world has been abuzz over what Chad Reed is going to do for 2014 ever since he packed up from the second to last round of the 2013 Outdoor series in Utah. Much speculation over what bike Reed would end up on in 2014. Well, after months of speculation and baiting from Chad Reed himself, he has opened up about his plans for the upcoming 2014 racing season.
Chad confirmed on the PulpMX show that he will be racing aboard a 2014 Kawasaki KX450F machine and Discount Tire has stepped up to become title sponsor of Team TwoTwo. While the official announcement of the Discount Tire as title sponsor has been known for a few weeks, no official announcement on the move to the green bikes has been made yet. Hearing it from Chad Reed himself and the many Instagram videos of him testing on the Kawasaki, expect a formal announcement sometime soon.
“I still haven’t signed the contract, but clearly I posted the video on a green bike and it’s pretty obvious what bike I’ll be riding,” Reed said on the Pulpmx Show. “I’m excited to be riding Kawis, it ended bad last time, so it’d surely be nice to have that experienced changed. 2010 was rough….I wasn’t healthy, didn’t love the bike or necessarily some of the people – management in particular. But a lot’s changed, the management’s changed and the bike’s changed drastically. You live and learn.”
Reed was never in talks with KTM to campaign the new Husqvarna for next year, his comfort on the Kawasaki was a always the decision maker. Reed had tested all the bikes and admitted he was hating the KTM and stuff, but things got away from him and he decided to look more into the Kawasaki bikes, ultimately going with the best bike out there.
“So I revisited the Kawi thing, and yeah, that’s where we’ve ended up – it suits my style the best” Reed said on the matter.
We have obtained a top secret video of Chad Reed testing on his Kawasaki earlier this week:"

However, I still dont think this makes him a top 5 contender week in week out ...imho
I'm not ready to bet my money on championships again but I would for 1-3 Supercross wins and 1-3 National victories next year.
i guess that 2012 frame is THAT good huh
That is some awesome writing...
EDIT: Looks like they changed it haha:
Reed was in talks with KTM to campaign the new Husqvarna for next year, but his comfort on the Kawasaki was a major decision maker. Reed had tested all the bikes and admitted he was far along with KTM in the contract process, but things got away from him and he decided to look more into the Kawasaki bikes, ultimately going with the latter. - See more at: http://www.btosportsnews.com/2013/11/chad-reed-speaks-2014-plans/#sthas…
