Name the rider, track , year & event. Yeah you can cheat and look at the link for the rider if you like.

I kind of recognise him, Im sure hes Italian but cant put a name to the face. I know the one on the left is Jacky Martens but I don't recognise the other guy with the hat on.

Rob Herring. He was South African but rode for the UK team. The rule changed to birthplace not federation license for riding for a MXDN team. Maybe that was not the rule change, since Billy Liles rode for Luxemburg I think sometime after 1988, and the current "Team Puerto Rico" thing.

Yup it's Rob of course.

The Americans turned up with radios mounted to the back of thier helmets and ear pieces inside so the mechanics could communicate during the race. They used them in practice but the FIM banned them from using them during the race and wrote a rule to that effect moving forward.

Wonder how long it will be before we see that rule changed though!? Its probably inevitable isn't it.
