Anstie had definitely become one of the best sand riders in the world, let's hope he hasn't lost any technique since he's not been busting out laps at Lommel recently.

It really amazes me, that a year after it happened, a bunch of dudes are still bent out of shape that a woman had an opinion about her husband and his job.

Agreed. It’s low hanging fruit for the vital brain trust.

Well I bought in at Red Bud and we know how that turned out. Yarrive's bikes don't seem to have the best reliability in the 250 class, and maybe not the 450 either.

But his handicap will be juicy and he could easily give you 100. Or zero.

I think he meant compared to tracks like Lommel or Lierop . It has a firm base .

Anstie's MXGP moto results in the sand:

2019 - 16th, 9th, 4th, 32nd, 9th, 13th. 28th, 1st.
2018 - 4th. 9th, 7th, 9th, 4th, 4th, 3rd, 4th.
2017 - 9th, 6th, 14th, 3rd, 3rd, 4th.

Marc was a very good sand rider, but his results resemble Anstie. Hot, cold, often beaten!

Marc never lacked self belief, but he had two GP win in the sand during his career. Here are the moto results:

2014 - 9th, 20th, 10th, 5th
2013 - 19th, 24th, 10th, 20th
2012 - 16th, 10th, 11th, 24th
2011 - 11th, 35th. 31st, 18th, 30th, 10th
2010 - 12th, 23rd, 10th, 21st, 16th, 27th, 8th, 6th,
2009 - 2nd, 30th, 31st, 11th
2008 - 8th, 29th, 3rd, 3rd, 1st, 10th, 1st, 3rd
2007 - 6th, 3rd, 23rd, 3rd, 3rd. 1st
2006 - 4th, 3rd, 23rd, 22nd,
2005 - 1st, 2nd
2004 - 26th, 4th,

He generally was very good around the bottomless pits of Lierop and Lommel. But around Zolder, Valkenswaard, Lictenvoorde and Kegums (which are all similar to Southwick in that they have a base) he didn't always perform as well.

Looking back on all of this, it sure makes me miss Lierop. Whilst Herlings lapping 3rd place is often talked about, Marc's moto 1 in MX2 back in 2005 was really impressive, as was the 2004 MXdN where he raced a 450 and was desperate to beat Everts - whilst he didn't, his pace and grit all weekend was a pleasure to witness!

... and good job by Anstie! Caught and passed some very good rider!

What are the plans with Firepower Honda? Will they race beyond Millville?

Think you'll find he rode a 250 2 stroke and almost beat everts on a 450.
