Apparantly it is closed right now? Searle and Roczen looking to ride it today, De Reuver has said it is shut... but the USA are able to ride it on Fri?!

Does this mean it is open for everyone then, or just the USA... seems strange...

That sounds strange yes? It would be fair to let the USA ride there. But exclusively? I think Decoster can pull some strings if they want to.

Yea, i thought you weren't allowed to ride the track before the GP/ Nations for two weeks prior or something.
Surely it should be open to everyone this week or closed to everyone this week though.

All the GP guys will be in Germany for the GP this weekend, so not really possible for them to ride on Fri.

Very strange if the USA are allowed a private test session on the track that close to the race.

they are doing track work on it today.... but we did a little filming for a video

the track is open tomorrow i believe and friday they are allowing Team USA a practice session

So what ? Every GP rider knows every sand grain of it, teams have tons of data... I don't see any problem there.

No problem with them riding it, strange that they are allowed a private session though that's all. And strange that the track is available to practice on this close to the nations for any team racing it.

Also not all the teams racing have GP riders. Team Ireland's riders are not excactly used to Lommel either, maybe they will be allowed a test day on Fri alongside the USA Wink

Well if someone like Crockard was to manage Team Spain in furture years, that would not sit well with me. Maybe i'm different tho..

I guess my thinking is, Roger goes ever year to make USA win which in turn mean he doesn't want Belgium to win. Do Belgians not feel like this?

I don't see the problem. Team Thailand is managed by a Dutch guy and I don't mind. Laughing Laughing

I'm sure DeCoster is happy with a Belgian win too, but prefers the US team to win.

In football the Dutch coaches are all over the world and helping national teams do well in Euro and Worldcup.

In football this is because the dutch don't have some good players and so the coaches are going to other countries with real footballplayers ;-)

Think they are practicing in the sand over the weekend. They are riding Lommel on Fri so can't see them racing a hard pack German track on sat and sun lol

It would have been great to see them there though!

Nope, but if it's a private session, I don't think it is exactly fair on other teams, especially the smaller countries that don't have GP riders who are used to that type of sand, Team Ireland are not used to Lommel either. Why should the US get a day on the track that close to the event when team Ireland can't?

USA shouldn't get special treatment.

However, If it is an open session, where the track is open for anybody and everybody then that is fair enough because then they have every right to use it. Although personally I wouldn't allow anyone on the track two weeks before a GP or Nations event.

I have always said USA will win anyway. This isn't Europe v USA. This is a countries race, where many smaller countries riders' are as foreign to the Belgian sand as the Americans. The teams with three GP riders will be fine.

I replied that it was.

Maybe the reason the US is riding Lommel is because they asked and where given the ok.....maybe the teams like Ireland should have asked and maybe they could also been included... also looks to me as RD just out managed others because he thought ahead, he is in it to win it.
Another thought could you imagine what a circus it would be if the US were in an open practice, do you think that maybe just maybe it is planned while the GP riders are busy and more importantly the GP media is busy at their day job so it doesn't turn into a circus. No disrespect to Ireland or the the other countries that have riders that aren't familiar with Lommel but I doubt that they would create the media frenzie/circus that the US team will/does.

I think Roger is a fan of the sport of MX period. the USA and KTM just had a great opportunity for him....along with other teams he has managed. Sometimes leaving your home country is what you have to do , to pay the bills. Fwiw.....I'm sure Roger loves his country , but the way the cards got laid out , he ended up having to work in the states. Sheeesh.....I didn't know his country men felt that way about him. I think he just loves the sport....and that's all there is to it.

zee Americuns ride at zee Lommelll circuit Frydayz. Alas, we shall only permit them on our Pitbike track, which is pretty lame.
