Well, he's on Facebook advertising his new site and products. The pic of him out on the lake makes him look retired.

Haven't heard from JS7 all year that I can recall. I might be blending responses from his "camp" or vital threads and forgetting it was actually from him. Haven't head from RD over a week. Might be a tad different if you ask me.

I thought I heard him say at LV that he hadn't made a decision. He also said he had done some outdoor testing. Do you want a press release saying that he is still deciding? I happen to think that he skips outdoors in exchange for another year or two indoors. DeCoster posted on his Facebook page a thanks to Ryan for 3 in a row, I tried to find a clue in there and I couldn't. Maybe he hasn't decided prior to today, obviously today is probably D Day for outdoors.

He did tweet before the A1 that he was not done yet.

I was going to mention that. Why not release it at the start of supercross and market it/capitalize on it?

Like I mentioned in another thread. I read an interview a couple months back and when Ryan was asked if he had given any thought about retirement he said that he's been asked that question a lot and knows which way he's leaning towards but that for now his focus was on winning two more championships this year. He's got one down (SX) 1 to go (MX).

The interview was a couple months ago so things could have changed but the way I read it was that he'll honor his contract with Red Bull KTM which comes to an end after the MX season and sail off into the sunset.

We'll find out soon enough.

I'm pretty sure he knows if he's racing or not, what's so hard (or the reason to keep it a secret) about letting your fans know what's going on?

Business contracts would be my guess.

Hasn't been at the test tracks with the KTM guys.

Agree. And it would have been quite the mic drop moment to make that announcement at Vegas after winning the championship. Definitely seems a little unprofessional to go about it like this, assuming the rumor is in fact true.

Why train with Aldon and the boys, and release a new line of Dungey gear if he's retiring? Matthes is full of shit.

Still glad you started this thread? Ryan's press conference was as classy as his racing. Unlike your comparison to #7.

at the time, yes i'm fine with it...........it was said announcement Friday, then Monday and nothing............

it was not a comparison of Ryan and James personally, just the fact of no news when it was supposed to be announced as JS7 did continually.................

sadly its over and one of the most "champion" champions this sport has seen............and yes JS7 should be ashamed of himself not having the respect to the sport and fans and industry that gave him what he hasSmile Smile

With all due respect to JS7, he has a business to promote and sales targets, so him letting people think he might make a comeback keeps his name alive, which helps his business etc.

If he announces retirement, the buzz around him will be gone, sales may decline and so on. It's just good business sense - can't blame him for trying to stay relevant.
