The 2003 Motocross Des Nations qualifying race. This is a great battle here between Everts and Carmichael. It's one of the few times we got to see these two great riders battle it out. Enjoy.

That first video reminds me of the bad ass that was RC. RV and JS7 have nothing on RC to this day. And Everts was definitely a bad ass as well, but that 450 sure pulled RC's 250 on the straights... Wink

Great race. I remember Gordon Crockard (I think it was Gordon) talking about Ricky that day in a magazine (DBR) article at the time - he said it was scary how fast RC was going on the 250 and that he'd never seen anything like it. The guy was just pinned everywhere like he didn't care.

Also what a cool track. The back section going up and down that hill especially looks so tricky in spots. So glad the MXDN recovered from those years in the early 00s when it was off and on with dumb formats. There really is nothing like that race.

I was there and it was impressive but he was in his own back yard at budds creek, Ricky went to their backyard and did it! Also poto wasn't ringing that 250f quite as hard as RC was that 2stroke I'm sorry, no comparison. POTO is beast but RC is the GOAT for a reason.

That was awesome, NOBODY ever rode a 250 2-stroke as Fast as Ricky Carmichael and that track was rough. Just goes to show why RC won all those Outdoor titles. He is the Fastest there's ever been.
