Anyone notice a trend with Fan of the Week? Muscle Milk this week? Monster last week? Is DC selling this as advertising space?

I mean, running the nationals, you have to keep your sponsors happy. I'm sure leveraging coverage on his website goes a long way.

Cygnus, that's what made it fun... now they are plastered with logos... I mean, it is subtle but obvious.

And why 2 pics of the older lady in the middle? (yeah, I had to say it) No disrespect but who is she?

Guys:
I'm the one who picks the FOTW. This one was actually emailed to me by two huge fans of the sport who attended the Southwick National this past weekend. This is from the email:

"My wife Sandy is 43 years old and would love to be the FOTW. The first race that she attended was the 2004 Southwick national. The next day she went and bought a bike (she
had never ridden). Shortly after she wanted to start racing with me. Not getting last was all the motivation she needed to keep at it. Her new motivation is to do the WMA event at
Southwick next year and probably be the oldest women to do so."

I think that's pretty cool. And hey, maybe she likes Muscle Milk.

I think that was Jab's point. If those Muscle Milk women want to be taken seriously as professional product endorsers, they need to dress WAY more conservatively.

Look back at the FOTW and tell me you don't notice all the logos... seriously.

Great story, but its still a muscle milk ad.

And why do you magazine guys create an account and jump on here when somebody starts talking? Seriously. Swap did it a week or so ago when I gave him shit about some photos. Now you are here defending FOTW. Seems a little defensive, especially with the way some of you guys talk shit about the message boards.

I think racerx needs to make a race babes article or something and just fill a page full of chicks from the races. That way everyone gets a shot!

ok ok, I was wrong... I admit it... there aren't that many logos in the FOTW, but there have been the last two weeks and this one was really fishy. Lets not hope it is a trend... sorry for stirring stuff up...

Hey,if it really was,"The Fan Of The Week". it might be a photo of some beer bellied 50 year old dude from Orlando with a mullet. How many of you want to see that?I say,if the chick is hot,put her in the mag.Try to stay away from the 6's and 7's though.Wink

So, you want me to try and find a photo each week of a fan at a motocross race with no logos in the picture....hmmm, I don't think that's going to happen.

Also, I've had a Mototalk account for years, and signed up on Vital earlier this year. I just felt like replying to this thread since I'm responsible for posting FOTW; is that okay with ya?

Dang man... take a deep breath will ya... You guys have no sense of humor.

I actually retracted my statement if you didn't notice. Only the last two FOTW have looked sponsored. I actually went to your site and looked back at the FOTW and there is nary a logo for a few months back.

As for your account, you show only 4 posts... sorry for not assuming you've been around longer.

In this media age, I'm pretty cynical. I know if you see a logo, it's probably paid for. But this one, it looked REALLY paid for...

Anyone remember the one platinum blonde that would show up with her short shorts unzipped?

Great fan of the week, I thought.

Even if it is sponsored or paid for, so what...it costs money to send journalists and photographers to races.

1, 2, 3, 4... deep breath. Okay, I feel better. Regardless, it looks like the Muscle Milk girls have done their job. That's all we're talking about, huh? But the feature is sponsored by Answer Racing...

Why do people have a hard on to be FOTW? The story about her is stupid. It's not called "Fan of the Week With the Coolest Story" just put hot chicks in the FOTW and I don't care if they are paid for or not. No 43 year old should ever be FOTW! This weeks edition should be called "Fan of the Weak".

Funny thing is,I'm getting so jaded in my old age,I didn't even SEE the one in the middle.I look right past them.Am I becoming that dirty old man I disliked so much when I was younger?Oh,well.Laughing

So is Sandy the cute girl in the middle? She should have her own pic because any lady who rides is way hotter than those imitations flanking her.
