So after a very long lay-off from the sport I found myself a kx144 for 2500.00 It was a good way to get back into things this year. I had oppurtunities to try friends 4 strokes all year but resisted...until I gave in yesterday. I hopped on an 2010 kx 250f. Before I even got it out of neutral and blipped the throttle I had a pretty good idea my 2t days were done! After a few laps my suspicion was confirmed. WOW!!!! Torque all the way through, so easy to ride, which translate to fun which is what its all about for me now.

From what little Ive heard, the KTM 350 sounds like the perfect bike for me. It would be a hard decision between a 250 and 450, so the 350 is appealing as long as it handles well etc. The maintanence, expense of a fixing a blown motor doesn't worry much as I am mechanically inclined and like to do preventitive maintainence. the only thing is, the 9 k or whatever it costs! But what can you do, gotta pay to play.

I don't want to start a 2 vs 4t debate, just my personal experience, the 4t blew my mind!! Gotta have one.

There is nothing sweeter than a 125 at full song. Unfortunately I am now 200lbs and rusty as hell, so I am going slow, which is no fun, especially in the sand which I used to love riding. For me I will be able to go faster on a 4t, and fast = more fun and thats all its about for me. and when I am having fun I am more inclined to ride and train harder, and my 2 stroke isn't going anywhere.

As for you Propogayda your and idiot. The 4t will be more dangerous cause I am gonna be hauling the mail on it. they are faster not slower Lets face it 125's are slow, which ironically, is no doubt a perfect match for you cause you don't have the balls to hang it out on a 350 or 450.

I can totally understand how he was sold on the 4 stroke while he was still in neutral. 4 strokes do their best work in neutral.

You see, when people start getting older and can't keep up with the bike anymore it feels more comforting to have an engine that performs more like a mobility scooter, without those unpredictable power peaks that can send hip bone fragments clattering to the 4 winds.

Also older riders don't absorb calcium as well, so they sometimes need a supplement to go along with their 4 Stroke and Benny Goodman records.

Perhaps the KTM 4 strokes will be covered under Medicare part b and sold through "The Scooter Store."

For $9,000 maybe they even throw in a prescription for Boneva.
