Saw it on the Midwest VMX Facebook page. There will be a couple of off road events run there this year and I guess they will be selling rider memberships. They're on the cross country schedule.

There is, and I actually think they stole the Lake Geneva name from Switzerland, haha.

I live in lake Geneva which is pretty close to Bristol.
Denmark was a cool track but been closed for a few years. Quite narrow, bit it always got a great turnout.
Dyracuse is a very deep sand track, but it's not 8 miles.
At least another month till we start riding.

Denmark is the nearest town not any relationship to a sand track. Best tight natural terrain track in this area.

This is great news as it sucks to lose tracks! Glad this one could be saved..

According to Rick they will be holding some mx races there in 2016..

I like this picture better, because of the scenery and I have the hole shot! I so want to join but I'm afraid of how long it will take to get it back into shape and heard the new owner doesn't plan to groom it on a weekly basis. Hopefully he will do some type of open ride so we can all see what kind of shape it can get back into after 4 years or so I growing over in weeds...

And Dyracuse is a sand track that I believe even the euros would call a "true" sand track. That place looks so awesome the day of a race but by the second practice 3 foot whoops all over the place....When I raced there I wasn't much of a sand rider, I should go back there someday as I have honed my sand riding skills a little since the early '90s....

You got to get that up on youtube, I would like to see it (then again, maybe not always faster in your memories than in real life!)

Oh, want to see the Maplehurst one, think that was the only time I beat you "straight up". The only other time I was ahead was because I would get the holeshot and you would be buried in the pack. Always like to watch you and your crew hit the plateau at Azzy, you guys had some style!

Glad I saw this post I didn't realize there are so many Midwest guys on here. I can't believe I didn't know that sand track was only two hours away, definetly going to be making my way up there this spring

Maplehurst was my favorite track as a young'n. Only got to race there on minis as it was closed by the time I got on a 125. I think '95 was the last year. Big hills, REAL DIRT, and plenty of rocks. Somewhat similar to Denmark. That place was real MX. As stated in the thumper talk thread, it was a gravel pit and became one again after it closed down.

Yeah, I really like them tracks, but the drive for me is a nightmare since there isno easy route from me west. The southern tracks are easier since its l94 all the way.

All you guys should try and get to motoland, its awesome.

I think red bud has an open. Ride first week in april

I need to get out and watch the wWoodstock races, I went to that ktm dealer and they were nice people. Sportland2 is a really good dealer also.

Here is a few warm up laps in worker practice at one of the races around '07-'08 I believe. Somewhere in there. It's the only decent footage I have of the track. Not sure if the video does the hills justice either. Pay no attention to the exhaust leak on decel. Unsure

Nice video Broc, I think they should put the drop away back when you go behind the pond. I remember one year they put a little "pre-jump" before the drop so you would land on the back side of the drop. Also should put the 3 rollers back in the back section. Those were always fun. I never seen it, but heard there were a couple of people that double one set of the 3 rollers in the back section. I also thought they should've added a section to go down the hill by the pits and then come back up the hill, right before the "spectator double". Do you have any "inside info" what he plans for the track (changes) or what type of maintenance he plans to do for members? With having a business and running a off road series I'm sure he already has his hands full.

Thanks Brian. I remember the drop off with pre-jump well. Agreed on all the track changes, but as you probably know, the land owners were hard to deal with and resisted change. Someone in Rick's position could really do some good with the land. I believe a couple people were able to double the first two rollers when the first one was built up a little, but the landing wasn't much. From what I've heard there won't be much focus on the moto track for the first year. I wouldn't expect to see routine track maintenance, but this didn't come from the horses mouth. All second hand info. I think Flea might have something to do with working on the moto track.
