This happened today at Top Gun MX in Linconton NC. The rider is Cole Mattison #328 grandson of 6 time LL Champion Robby Neeley. Luckily he only recieved a broken collar bone, but will miss all LL qualifiers. Huge bummer for a stupid incident that should have never happened.

Ah the joys and risks of hiring unpaid and untrained flaggers. When I ran our local track the flaggers were almost always my biggest worry. no matter how well you tried to teach them they would always do stupid shit. Hopefully they are both ok.

The last 2 races I did at a certain track, the same flagger sitting at the same spot on the biggest jump was texting on his phone and not paying attention pretty much every time I passed him.

I got the point of the thread. Want me to say what everyone else have said multiple times? Ok... What a stupid move by the flagger. Cost the kid a chance at the LL qualifiers... There Happy? But i hope they are ok. I don't see how he couldn't hear the kid coming anyways...

Wow....hope the kid is ok!! Sucks he will miss the qualifiers.

Not very concerned about the flagger. My mind doesn't allow me to feel sympathy for stupidity. It's just Darwin at work.....

I knew I was waiting for something to happen, but my heart still missed a beat when the guy comes into view over the jump. And the little scream in the background made me shiver. That could easily have been everyone's worst nightmare. A broken collarbone seems almost getting off lightly.

Wow, I thought it was going to be a flagger not having his flag out when a rider was down...not just walking aimlessly across the track. Thats nuts he didn't even look as though he was concerned about any bikes coming over the blind jump...

Flagger needs to be sued for all hospital bills and potential winning that he cost the kid. What a moron!

So the flagger would have to decide which to give up, the beach house, the mountain cabin, or the house on the golf course?

At Mountaineer one time a rider went down and his girfriend runs on to the track- right on the downside of a big jump. She got nailed and was hurt pretty bad.

Personally I don't agree with suing people over every single thing. But yeah, it was extremely stupid.
