Someone had told me they were trying htem out and had showa tech guys down there, and i can tell by looking at the axle lugs... JGR's had a different pinch bolt pattern they were underneath the axle, the ones in those pictures are standard A-kit lugs which point upwards like a normal set of suspension has.

This pic has last years stuff on it, notice the pinch bolt pattern, they are horizontal under the axle, the ones in the picture above have standard vertical set up that come on the A-kits you purchase. Previously JGR had been using in-house Showa's they were making some of the parts for. I believe in an article they were called F-type Showa units...
I would like to see a picture of the newer stuff from the side. The top of these forks get bigger in diameter at the top clamp (like full factory showa units do such as on factory honda's bikes) Standard A-kits keep the same size through the top clamps.

James looked awesome on the the YZF his first year with L&M. Guess that would be the 2009 model? Won something like 10-11 races I think and I cant remember him having any huge getoffs. A1 had the crash in the whoops where he seemed to miss a shift and there were a couple tipovers that gave Reedy a couple wins. Other than that he was dialed in and could have prob had 15 wins. Remember in Houston, I believe, he cleared a huge dragons back which almost put him in the corner but he railed it no problem. Maybe he got to confident after that season and didnt realize the new talent would be there so quick.

I agree outsider....I think this year is going to top even last years racing......and that's almost hard to believe.

What I'm really hoping to see is some other riders break that top five bracket. We know RV , RD , Stewart , Reed and Trey will almost always be towards the front......but I wanna see KW , Brayton , Short , Weimer , Metcalfe , Hill and Barcia ( when he rides the 450 ) and a few others.....mix it up inside that top 5!

Bottom line.....I wanna see a big group still in the points chase with a few rounds to go.

Heh, that was last year Mr. sider. I think RD will win more this year if his bike is acceptable to him. Sooner or later I think he'll more readily use aggression to make passes. I agree he was too boring last year, but even in his lackadaisical follow the leader riding style, he was and is a title contender as you admit. 2012 is a new year for a new Dunge!

Good luck to your boy RV though. I like them all really.

Ryan, not being as dumb or naive as his fans knows that Stewart Reed Dungey Canard and many others will be fast next year and he can't let his guard down.

No darkside for me brother!! I think RV and Dunge are so close in speed indoors that the bike change will give Villo that small edge. When you're talking about tenths of a second diff in laptimes, that's could be all the difference. Come outdoors, where Dungey shines, the bike will be completely sorted out and I predict PAIN for the rest of the field HAHA! No more bullshit gifts (broken chain, running out of effin gas!) for the competition.

Bingo. It's going to be a great year to be a spectator if these guys all stay healthy, 5 guys who can all win on any given weekend. I wouldn't feel confident betting the farm on any of them in particular.

My outlook is a bit different though. I think his bike will be fine. As far as I know both the RD's are getting to test the thing and have it built to their liking. This of course includes the frame and whatever else.

It's part of what makes racing interesting. You never know what could happen.

Every bike can have a mechanical Dnf. You saw it with Honda Suzuki and KTM last year.

I remember the year RC almost had a Dnf outdoor do to an electrical problem on the last lap when he was with Suzuki.

I think Reed getting that moto win at the MXdN was huge. Got the monkey off his back and hopefully put that EPIC getoff at Milville behind him. He was clearly the fastest guy on the track before that, speed, starts, stamina. And from the guy who cant ride outdoors? A confident Reed come supercross, very dangerous

Honestly, I *little* part of me is rooting for the whole KTM team including both RD's as I tend root for the underdog. Would be amazing if they won a title with a whole new bike and team.

Hmmm.....maybe you need to zoom in on those pics. Those forks look exactly the same as the ones they were using last year ( and in the pic from the JGR test track). You can see they are the same color and have the same bolt pattern.

Really hard to tell, but looks like they might be running a steeper head angle? Wouldn't be suprised if Stewart like the RMZ so much.
