Ok, I know the joker lane issue has been discussed a bunch this week but here is a new take.
Ive heard a story about Ron Lechien racing a euro sx where they had a doll hanging above the finish line and if you were able to jump and touch it you won a watch or a car or cash or something.
What if you had an alternative lane with a table top that was like the x games high jump kicker with a monster claw hanging high above it maybe even swinging left to right. If you jump and smack the claw it would trigger some strobe lights. If you hit it then you can take the faster joker lane. If you miss it then you lost time going for it. Overall it would be faster if you succeed. The rider can try for the joker lane as many times as they want but there is always a risk to it.
Edit: To make sense it should be an actual joker card swinging not a monster claw.

I think the new thing they should try is not having a joker lane and either doing a split section where the faster section is harder to get to or just making an extra section of the track.
I think a lot of people would agree in saying that a ton of space was wasted this year at MEC due to the split start and the joker. Make that track space so there's more track to race. That's what I want to see.

If you want a slow joker make it a series of rock or split wood switchbacks where a tipover is highly likely. This can take hardly any track to build.
A shortcut lane can take even less track, it can just be an earlier 180 turn in a lane.
Almost. Make them do it every lap, no alternate lane.
It is the F**k with you lane.
It also has worked down here where it is literally a short passing lane, just miss a big jump and drive on by, because it keeps the racing tight. The usual MEC ones are like 5 seconds – well done, you just spaced the field with no guarantee they'll be back on each other straight away.
Pit Row
How about since the majority of teams have 2 riders have 1 guy do 5 laps then make a pit stop slap his teammates hand wrestling style to tag him in for the remaining 5 laps. Those that don't have teammates find someone that rides the same brand of bike as you and call it a day. Both teammates have to take the joker lane.
LOL. Stupid sideshow race.
I think we should keep it simple and have a medieval style pit filled with leather back swamp dogs *known as crocodiles to you Yankees* swarming by the dozens starved for days with Ricky Carmichael standing at the edge surrounded by billy goats bloated on Monster Energy drinks while he swings a flaming battle axe fiercely at the riders - Following the swamp pit we should have a Ryno section, where we spread Ryno Power protein powder knee deep with shaker balls hidden throughout. I think the protein powder ball pit will make for some great passing and a thrilling race.
Hey, it’s just a thought.
