At what point would Roczen stay at Suzuki/RCH?

Edited Date/Time 6/1/2016 12:35pm
With the rumoured move to Honda in 2017, What would it take to stay where he is? With the unfortunate injury's to Bagget and Stewart and Stewarts future bargaining power most likely diminishing, would Suzuki offer more money? would a good season sway him to stay? Thoughts?

I would have waited a year if I was him.

Sign a one year option to stay on the bike that is super sorted and let some other monkeys sort out the Honda... they've basically proven it takes them two years the last three generations.

I agree.

I think he feels that he's learned to sort the bike out himself and that maybe other monkeys would't get the bike where he needs it. I guess we'll see how right he is, but it seems like another bad time to decide to move.

let's not forget ken won right away on the suzuki. whatever the problem was after those couple wins i have no idea. so there is a good possibility he will win pretty soon on that honda.

i think the honda deal is all done and dusted.

Yep, done deal. Once again the Zook morons are letting the talent walk.

maybe hes thinking if he gets in while the bike is new he can have it changed to his liking.

You'd think that if RC & Carey wanted Roczen to stay...they'd have found a way to get Suzuki to pony up the cash. In the end though, if a rider is wanting to jump ship...he'll find a way to jump ship.

Hard to see him leave, now that he is one with that bike!

What would the irony be if he leaves a team, again, after winning a title and then spends the net two season complaining about getting the new bike set up right?

Seems he would be a good fit at Factory Suzuki but I could be wrong.

What it would take is a time machine.

I am looking forward to seeing Kenny on red. Would be cool to see Honda win a championship with him. The way he rides a bike with fluidity and moving around, seems like the light honda will gel very well with him.

How does that work? Technically he's still contracted to RCH/Suzuki. Is he also contracted to Honda now? Are there legal ramifications if he has a change of heart?

It was more-or-less a tease for those who think he's staying put. Just saying he signed his new deal already...

Honda has made some stupid money choices in the past...but they also haven't had anyone even close to a US championship in years, and sad to say...Canard & Seely are not going to get it done. If Michael is right (he usually is), and the deal is done, you can bet Honda put some crazy money on the table to make it happen. They have a history of "buying championships".

Yep, when Honda took back the control of their racing Mx, it sure made it seem like they were tired of messing around! If they pull Roczen, then for sure they want a championship!

So Roczen won the National title on a KTM, and ran the number 1 plate on a Suzuki the following year....there is a very good possibility he'll win this National title on a Suzuki and then run the number 1 plate on the Honda next year.

Seeing a Honda with a number 1 on it in the nationals will take me all the way back to the 96 Nationals and McGrath! (Since RC never ran the number one on a Honda...well, I think he did his last race for them, right?) Nostalgia!
