AMA National Numbers

Does anyone know why certain national numbers are not available? I know that the AMA has pup nation #4 on hold for a few years but what about #6 and #8? Langston has not gotten points in several years why is that number not available? and I cant think of the last time anyone was #6.

Also, according to the number roster #13 still belongs to Heath Voss? as far as I know he didn't race any SX or MX last year how does he manage to keep his number?

Does anyone have a better idea how this works?

I beleive every one of those numbers is ou for grabs by the end of this season.

Shouldn't the AMA of awarded Barcia the #13 instead of #17, and chisholm said that he choose #11 cause it was the lowest career number available. Is there some reason he could not of chosen #6 or #8?

You have to be a class champion to claim 2-9, so the lowest career number Chisholm could choose was #11. If he wins a title, Kyle is welcome to the number 6 or 8 (or even the number 4, which will be available then). The number 13 is considered an optional number as most riders do not want to run it.

I don't believe a top 10 number is available to a person who earns a career number. Top 10 is reserved for championship winners (250 MX, 450 SX/MX). I think that is how it works...

also, the dude that has the brass to run the number 4 better be ready to dominate. because otherwise they will tarnish the forbidden number

Heath Voss scored 16 SX points last year, so that is why he is still #13 this year.
Grant Langston also raced last year scoring 66 SX points and 27 National points, so that is why he still holds the #8 this year.

Oh yeah......why isn't #7 up for grabs? It hardly ever gets used anyways! HAHA!.....it's like some old guy that buys a classic car and lets it sit in his garage......just looks at it and never friggin' drives! But it's the best damn sports car on the planet if you ask him! Woohoo
