Since most are out now, and imo are all really good bikes. Which bike or bikes got your interest the most? For me its the kawy 450, ktm sxf 450/350 and 150sx. ,For what its worth, the shootouts should be good.

Kawasaki 450 as I have a soft spot for green machines, still miss my 12 KX450f
RMZ250, interested to see how this turns out, a RMZ250 with a KXF/YZF motor would be a fantastic bike.

Never owned a Kawi but the 2016 Kawis do look pretty cool with a sick graphics kit.
Not too excited about the KTM, I don't really dig the plastics on it.

Then you should wait for the 2017 Suzuki's.. They are gonna have RAD plastics bro, probably the fastest plastics out there!

Since I have never sat on any KTM that the suspension didn't feel mostly like junk, I am partial the KX, hop on, it feels close and fast right out of the crate. If I was worried about money honda has the absolute best fit and finish, my son in law is die hard honda, their quality is spot on but their bikes feel S-L-O-W

Impressive that you can tell suspension is junk just be sitting on the bike!

I rode a YZ 450 2015 last weekend and I was pretty impressed with it. Just didn't feel like a weighted down log truck like the other 2 450s I've owned (06 yz 450 and 13 SXF 450).

I'm going to get another 4 stroke next year, it will more likely be the KTM 350 2016.

I always forget that this place hangs on every word.

Let me clarify: "sat on" to me equalled, ridden a number of laps because all my Texas friends who are in love with KTM's always say "hey ride my new bike, it's unreal"

Does that help?

For clarity: I don't write articles for magazines or work for Kawasaki

I'm a sales manager @ a bike shop and we will be riding a 2016 TE 300 and a 2016 FC250. I got to ride both bikes at the dealer show at Budds creek and loved them....I kinda wanted the FC350 but all mine are sold before they get here, so a FC 250 it is for me. I do not get to ride as much as I would like, so I need to rock the "hero bike", 250 f on the track. My heart says pre-mix, but my conditioning/fore-arms scream four stroke......

'16 450 SX-F here. I'm 195 and the suspension works fine. A revalve is definitely coming but who doesn't revalve suspension, no matter what color bike you're riding? It came down to the KTM and the Kawi for me...and taking it even further it was really the fit'n finish that swayed me to the KTM. There is so much attention to detail everywhere on the bike where the Kawi seemed cheaply put together.

Ktm is definitely the best finished bike. I love mine but the 4cs forks suck badly.

Seriously considering getting a YZ250F.

Have heard nothing but great things about them. Anyone here have one? and any thoughts on it?

I rode a 16 350 this past weekend, the bike felt overall good.

The forks were bad, really bad. But the shock was better than I was expecting.

Had very smooth usable power and really kept pulling longer than expected. Felt like a really pumped up 250F.

The thing wouldnt stay in a rut to save its life though. Part of that is due to the horrible front tire IMO

Overall I think it would be a great bike if you spent the time setting it up and knew someone that knows the in's and out's of the KTM.

Great engine, shrouds remind me of Kim Kardashian's ass.....aka WIDE. Gave the whole bike a bulky feeling to me. Handling wise it was very neutral, I think my KTM 350 could turn under it. Very predictable and planted.

Just has a bit of a weird feeling to me, if it were me I would be buying a Kawi or KTM 250.

You'll like any of the new bikes for the most part. YZF's are good, but do feel a bit wide on top so make sure you sit on one or ride one first.

We've like Kawi and Suzuki a lot. Finish is exceptional on them...Honda too.

We were't as impressed as some regarding the KTM's. We spend hours trying to dial in suspension and the finish wasn't so good - peeling and burnt plastics and the battery wouldn't start our FE's. Not sure it's so great having an eStart when the bike won't fire, but we ended up selling and are happy with the new Kawi and RMZ (2015).

The YZF is good...The only complaint was that it felt a bit wide in the saddle.

I will say something about Kawasaki that is true, worst fit and finish of all the bikes and I only use honda bearings for replacement when I can.......but man the suspension and the motor just feels right, right out of the box. But I don't ride sx or race outdoor nationals

Its all relative. I went from a 2008 CRF450 (solid CRF platform) with Factory Connection suspension to the 2015.5 KTM 450 Factory Edition and the stock 4CS forks blow those forks away. The rest of the bike makes my CRF feel like a heavy vintage bike. The electric start is a dream if I screw up during a race. I start in gear and keep going. I change air filters without tools. Way I look at it is the KTM is the lightest bike, with easiest starting and easiest to work on. Until the small 4 start doing these things I will never go back.

I'm really looking forward to the 17 Honda release. If they're almost on par with HP numbers, and weight savings I'm in. I'm not looking for them to win both or either category, but as long as it's respectable I'm going to get a 250f

Does the cycra kit alleviate some of that wide feeling?

I like my KTM 350 but I'm in love with my 2015 YZ 250F !!!
As mentioned above the KTM shock is good but the forks are terrible where the YZ suspension is plush and perfect right out of the box. I consistently turn faster lap times on the YZ 250F than the 350.
The YZ corners like a dream compared to the KTM 350. It actually over turns and will catch you by surprise.

I've heard from someone I consider fairly in the know on these matters. He says the 2017 Honda 250f & 450f will be electric start, and a strong possibility the 250f will have a twin-cam engine.

Funny, I would of definately said the opposite about the fit and finish between the Kawasaki and the KTM....
