Good job AJ.

Keep us informed if you are able to. Any idea what shape the track is in?

Boy, that's not much practice time on the track. Seems to me that they used to get more time than that, but maybe I'm having a senior moment.

Richie got the holeshot....Albee went by shortly after....first trip up the big uphill Albee had about a 5 bike lead....Richie blew by with the big 500...it was awesome! Albee got back by and pulled away....Richie had a battle with Phil Lawrence for 2nd until the last lap when lawrence got by on his KTM....

1.) Greg Albertyn
2.) Phil Lawrence
3.) Richie Owens

by the way, it was so cool to hear the sound of 42 2-strokes off the start....hope they do this race again next year...

the quad race took up most of the mud....so the track looked perfect for the 2-strokes....should be great tomorrow.

awesome ride !

Any video of the 2 stroke race?
What bikes were the respective riders on (RM250, 250SX, CR500AF, etc)?
Is the track going to be changed at all for tomorrow's national?

* This thread is useless without pics of the AF500 throwing out massive amounts of roost all over the place.

I wonder how fast you could go around that Talledega first turn on a 500...

Tapia was the 1st to huck the big step-up, on an 05' KX250. The top 3 didn't jump it.

Dubach, Pingree, and a couple of others that I didn't recognize, jumped it too.

well sam,, i've been there recently and thats a scary fast turn..

it was big, open, loamy (that day) with some big berms to rail..
(actually several line choices)
ther ewas nothing but your own confidence to slow you down---
i was having more problems with the corner afterwards
as after going tthru talladega *decently* i was coming into that next one
(also nice big berm) way faster than i was comfortable with LOL.
and kept not transitioning into it as smoothly or on the gas as hard as i liked to have..

honestly i'm sure any decent pro can completely rail it in 4th or 5th.
as well as the next corner in one long fluid motion..

it is a fun track, i loved it.
just wish i could ride..lol

4th - 6th were doin it tapia, brozovich, dubach........bitchin race....you could really tell 250 2-st struggled on the hills and sand compared to 450's
5/24/2008 7:46pm
I would imagine the 250-2's were pulling the hills about like the 250F's were, correct?

Doubtful since a modded 250T has +50hp. 250f's under 40.

I bet there isn't a single 250F on the gate pushing under 40hp.

And Albee was out there? Fucking awesome!

looked very similar with less shifts on the 4-st...........250 2-st 50 hp - 250f 45 hp.......four stroke has more torque and thats where you notice it the most

I bet there isn't more than a couple that are pushing 40.

Wiseone02-08-2008, 09:33 PMHeres a Wiseco 14:1 piston in our bike.

Graphs are the bike initially stock then with the following
Porting
Cams
Carb Mod
Wiseco 14:1
Vortex Ignition
Stock Header pipe and FMF Tail Pipe

Peak horsepower was 37. About 3hp over stock. I dont know how you build a 40hp engine. Team won national MX lites so pic of No1 plates on bike.

We pay for our Pistons. Any chance of sponsorship Wiseone?

Nice and this is the shelf stock piston not the "R" series that will outperform .
