Lots of great bench racing there, and even though it's a bit controversial, I agree that RC is not on that list.

this alone should put RC at or near the top of the list. He was the fastest Honda MX rider.

In 2002 Carmichael, riding his new red, number 4 Honda CR250R, defended his 250-cc Supercross championship with eleven overall wins, and he made AMA history in the 250-cc Motocross by winning all twelve events. Not only did he sweep the season, he won every qualifying heat, going twenty-four for twenty-four, giving him a perfect season that can only be matched, but never beaten.

Theres certain riders, when you hear their name, you automatically think of a brand. Carmichael and honda isnt one of them

DC needed to word the title a little differently me thinks. He clearly outlined KW's long list of different colored bikes he rode which leads me to believe he should have done the same with RC.

I would say that qualifies as great.. if not the greatest on a Honda

Not sure the rationale for leaving RC off doesn't apply to RJ as well, but maybe the key is what gets accomplished after leaving Honda.

It's Honda. They should have done the top 50 Honda riders of all time to be fair to the riders.

Using "Greatest" makes leaving RC off the list just barely short of criminal!!!!!!

When you think of RC do you think of Suzuki more than Honda? When you think of Stanton do you think of Honda more than Yamaha? MC was pure Honda but watered it down with the last 3 brands he rode for.

With RC, I think more of Kawasaki to be honest. I almost forget that Stanton rode Yamaha sometimes, and I'd say that the MC "recognition factor is probably about 70/30 Honda to Yamaha. Especially for some of the "younger" crowd.

Is this list about the 10 greatest riders who ended their careers with Honda?

No way in the world the GOAT isn't on that list....if he's the greatest rider of all time...then, by default, he's the greatest kawasaki, Honda, and Suzuki rider. If he's not the greatest on the brands he rode for, then he's not the GOAT.

For sure Bailey is the coolest-looking Honda rider ever.
But what about André Malherbe? Dude won three 500cc world championships for Honda. And that was still the heyday of the open class. I always thought he looked super cool on his Hondas. He didn't have the persona of a dirt-bike racer to me. He seemed more polished, I guess.

YES !! When I think of Kawi I think of Jeff Ward, RC, Stewart, RV, um even Eddie Warren, Jeff Matiasevich, now when I think of Suzuki I thik of Dungey, RogerD, Mark Barnett, um Josh Lichtle, Nico Izzi, now Yamaha it would be Bob Hannah, Broc Glover, RJ even and Honda, I think of Marty Smith, MC, Stanton, Johnny O, David Bailey, Mickey Dymond, Danny Magoo Chandler, Jim Gibson and Ronnie Lechien (but I could put him in the yamaha category too).

RC completed two perfect seasons for Honda.


Also, when I think of Team Honda I do think of Jeff Stanton, David Bailey, and Rick Johnson.
