Hey guys and gals, thought I'd throw up a few pics of my 17'. Not really a build but more of a bolt on and stickers, going for the Factory Honda look. Pulled everything apart to grease, the steering stem had the most grease and that's not saying much. I plan to have the triple clamp smoothed and anodized red, as well as add the blue CV4 radiator hoses in the future. I went with the tusk rims (had them for an old bike but never used) and hubs, the rear wheel fully assembled was 1.8lbs heavier with a heavy duty STI tube. On the rear wheels (stock and Tusk) I installed renthal sprockets and stock honda brake discs. I didn't get the front wheel set up weighed, the wife was rushing me for dinner. The Yoshimura exhaust is 2.2lbs lighter than stock. It's been a bit cold to work in the garage so as you can see the living room was my work space, thanks to the awesome wife who was rushing me for dinner.
The Shop
I can do that sort of thing, with a big house to myself (well, really, not now, as I've recently brought my old mum into my home : you've got to take care of your loved ones, no matter how much they drive you nuts - any Aussies here might remember the show "Mother and Son" - well, it could end up like that, I fear), and a crowded, 'working' workshop.
But with the mantelpiece hangings it looks like you've a family there..........
Thumbs up !
Your builds are first class! I rode a CR500 once, outta control!
very nice bike.
Pit Row
One question I have though.. How would you say the ease of disassembly and assembly is on this newer 450? I always felt my 2011 had some retarded design flaws making it a bit harder to work on.
OP, good on you for your due diligence, I can't wait to see how this thing turns out.
Nice looking bike!
Got the chance to see 3 of them at some tracks here in Spain last week, they are even better in person!
