Picked up this 2002 CR125 for a pretty good price a couple weeks back, bike was in pretty good condition and near original apart from a different set of bars and rear sprocket.
Not sure on what route I’m going to go down with the bike yet, for the minute I’m just going to concentrate on going over it and see what I’m dealing with and try and get some more power out of it.
Bike had the full standard exhaust system but I’ve fitted a PC R304 for now and I’ve got an Airstriker carb from a 2000 CR250 on the way Smile
Pic below is from today, all I’ve done so far is fit the PC silencer, more progress to follow...

Had a spare couple of hours today so managed to get the bike stripped down to a roller. For a 18/19 year old bike it’s not in bad shape!
Swingarm and linkage bearings are next on the to do list, at the moment I’m in two minds on what direction to go with the bike, either do the basics and leave it at that or go all out with titanium hardware etc...id love to do a 2005 Larocco Amsoil 250 rep.
Anyhow, couple of pics below...I’ll try adding regular updates

Very nice. Finding one this clean for anywhere near a okay price is next to impossible.

Thanks man, yeah they’re getting harder to find for a reasonable price. I bought it off an old school friend so that helped me get it that little bit cheaper Smile haha

Dang, for how nice that looks already, I'd be temped to not over-do it. ...Then again, mine is basically on route to have everything re-done with how janky some of it is, so what do I know haha

Had some more spare time today so managed to get some work done on the motor, the powervalve was absolutely filthy..took a little bit of force to remove the shaft from the bearing.
Anyhow, completely dismantled the powervalve and noticed the bearing was completely shot!
Cleaned the powervalve assembly, fitted a new bearing and it now works smoothly Smile

I need to do that on mine. How did you remove the shaft from the bearing?

Once you removed the power valve assembly the shaft just pulls out of the bearing. It’ll be in there tight though due to the build up of crap on the shaft. Spray some engine degreaser/ WD40 on there, let it soak and you should be able to pull it out with a little bit of force.

Bit more progress on the build today...removed the inner clutch cover to inspect the clutch, which was all in good shape.
Figured whilst I had east access I may aswell rebuild the water pump and it was a good job I did! The bearing and seals were completely done.
Water pump kit, vertex piston kit and various seals are all on the way!
Also received my air striker carb today, which I completely stripped, cleaned thoroughly and re-jetted for the 125.
Jetting is as follows - 180 main, 50 pilot, #5.5 slide, third clip down on the needle and 1.5 turns out on the air screw Smile

Small bit of progress here, got the motor pretty much finished..just waiting on some billet clutch and ignition covers that I’m having made.

Added some titanium also..ti kickstart bolt, ti drain plug, ti oil filler plug, ti cylinder base and head nuts.
Also had the inner clutch cover and water pump cerakoted whilst I had it all apart Smile

Progress has been slow due to waiting for parts and the fact that I’m now back to work after nearly 16 weeks off!

Managed to get the motor 99% built and fitted the Honda Racing clutch and ignition covers! just waiting for V Force reed block to arrive.

Anyhow...picture below!
