Yellow72 Started a new thread Moto Journalists Sell Out
1/25/2012 7:54pm I just received the April edition of Racer X and J-Law's new One Industries ad caught my attention. If you haven't seen it, there's a gaggle of real-life moto-photogs and moto-journalists just to his left. In effect, these journalists have all officially sold out, among them Speed's Erin Bates, MXA's Zap Espinoza and Racer X's Eric Johnson. DC is there...

Yellow72 Started a new thread Anybody hear McGrath say...
1/21/2012 8:01am on the Jeff Stanton MX Files episode that the '93 CR250 was his favorite bike? I thought it was interesting that after all these years and all those bikes from Honda, Yamaha, KTM and Suzuki that the early CR was his fave. That got me to thinking about my favorite bike, aside from my current ride. My '89 RM250 wasn't...

2/12/2009 8:58pm In response to a few comments: No, it wouldn't have mattered in the least if it were Dungey. I don't know what that has to do with anything. Yeah, I understand that magazines sell advertising. Does that mean Jody Weisel sells them? Hell, no. That's just stupid. Magazines and newspapers have entire ad departments dedicated to that. Writers are generally...

2/12/2009 2:24pm I'm not trying to be chippy here, GuyB, I'm just saying that literally every press release on the Home page has your name and photo. I understand that's how the system works, I'm just saying. So, if you want to go ahead and lump yourself in with all the other journalists in that ad, then so be it. I'll try...

2/12/2009 1:39pm I may be wrong about this, but I think the majority of what appears under GuyB's byline is press releases.

2/12/2009 10:05am Good advice. The biggest scare of my life came a few months ago. I was having serious chest pains, called my girlfriend and scared her to death. She took me to a medical center and they did an EKG. Turns out I had torn muscles away from the bone in my chest from working out and it was mimicking the...

Yellow72 Added a reply to "I'm with David Bailey, he maybe onto something...."
2/8/2009 2:51pm I'm not looking through rose-colored glasses, but c'mon. Back then we had guys like Barnett, Bailey, O'mara, Johnson, Ward, just to name a few. These guys were as fast as today's top riders and trained harder than any of them. Now, we've got factory-sponsored guys like Millsaps who says he's training too much and is going to cut back and...
Yellow72 Added a reply to Transworld is impressive
1/30/2009 6:44pm Maybe this has been talked about before and I just missed it, so I apologize in advance if that's the case. But I'm amazed that this young kid managed to put together his own team in the off-season, find two major sponsors - Boost and AM/PM - to go along with Monster and even come up with a professional transport...
Yellow72 Added a reply to J-Law...this one's good!
1/19/2009 9:29pm The ultimate J-Law moment came during the "get to know the rider" segment: Question: What's your favorite movie? J-Law: Blow. Blow: The story of George Jung, the man who established the American cocaine market in the 1970's. Now we know. I do love the guy's comedic touches, however. His old-school, sitting-down feet-out celebration as he crossed the finish line was...
Yellow72 Added a reply to Any info on this bike?
1/16/2009 3:56pm Nope, that bike did race in the Japanese Nationals, and it was a 250. I seem to remember Yamaha or Honda was also experimenting with an automatic transmission in the Japanese Nats at that time, but that project never bore any fruit.

1/12/2009 12:01am Whoa, KGA, you're putting words in my mouth. I never said Summey was worthless, far from it. I'm sure he trains hard and is committed. But Yamaha336 is endorsing this guy for a factory Honda ride and I'm simply asking what warrants that. Should we be impressed that he finished 12th? I have no clue what the hell you're talking...

1/11/2009 11:17pm Geez, that's the biggest freakin' silencer I've ever seen attached to a dirt bike.
Yellow72 Added a reply to Millsaps - Another Inspired Ride
1/11/2009 11:08pm Come on. Really? Summey's 12th was that impressive? What has Josh Summey ever done? He had a JGR ride that he did nothing with. Josh Grant gets the same ride and what happens? Won Anaheim I and takes third in Arizona behind two former champs and is leading the SX series. Summey? He finished outside the top 10. I'll never...
Yellow72 Added a reply to Dungey pics back up
1/9/2009 2:28pm Can you really blame Luke Skywalker for not wanting to be under the same umbrella as Darth Vader (sorry, Star Wars reference)? Look, the truth is we don't know what the guys at One told Dungy when they signed him away from Answer. What if they told him he was their main guy, even if just for this year, and...
Yellow72 Added a reply to Who was the baddest 500 rider in MX history?
1/8/2009 11:27pm How do you choose between Magoo and Bailey? Weird thing is, they were completely opposite in style. Magoo was WFO before he even kicked the bike over, while Bailey rode that awesome works 500 like it was a velvet hammer. That guy was the king of smooth.

1/6/2009 11:20pm WTH?! We've got exactly one quality show on television dealing with the legends of our sport, it's history, and you're complaining to Speed because you didn't like the production of one episode? Man, if you don't like it don't watch it, but don't ruin it for the rest of us.
Yellow72 Added a reply to Maybe I missed it...
1/6/2009 11:29am Yeah, Stewart kind of made that an awkward situation. Who knew he was going to try to push his bike to that side? And, of course, in KW's defense, he was being pointed to that side by the track workers. That was just a weird racing incident, but I thought the track workers actually did a good job getting in...

1/4/2009 10:43am Definitely, I noticed that, too. I'm not a Reed fan, but he was cutting and slashing like he was on a two stroke. He definitely had Bubba's number in the corners. And didn't we see something stupid coming from Bubba? I like the guy, but you could tell he was riding the ragged edge.
