I have a different theory and I'll apologize right now since it doesn't have any whisper of conspiracy, family issues or in any way malign Davi's fitness..

Millsaps is one of the riders that they refer to as the "Cobra Generation", been riding, racing and training since he was about 4 years old.
Maybe he is just burnt out.

Is it possible that he just doesn't have the drive at every race anymore because he has done it basically since he could walk?

Yeah I'll chalk one up for burn-out as well. It sure happens to many. It's no secret that any physical activity is driven by mental strength and inner drive. I really think that Davi could be a podium contender....thats not new news to anyone I'm sure.

But it's just like Hansen. Anyone can tell him all day long that he has loads of talent (I even gave him the speech a couple weeks ago), but if Josh, or Davi don't want it, they won't get it.

This is where I'm such a huge fan of Mike Alessi. That kid wants it - the effort and detail he puts into his program is really impressive to me (at least what I see from the fence). I mean, did anyone catch the personal log that Alessi keeps for every race? Talk about thorough.

But that doesn't make Mike a better person or better racer. Davi may just be burnt out through a series of events and sometimes that is hard to overcome.
I agree with everything but the burn out part. NOBODY has raced more than the Alessi family....

Charles Summey is looking a hell of a lot better than Cody Cooper. Honda needs to get rid of Mudflaps and get someone like Summey in there that actually trains. Summey impressed the shit out of me today.
Come on. Really? Summey's 12th was that impressive? What has Josh Summey ever done? He had a JGR ride that he did nothing with. Josh Grant gets the same ride and what happens? Won Anaheim I and takes third in Arizona behind two former champs and is leading the SX series. Summey? He finished outside the top 10. I'll never understand why Summey gets such a pass. Has he ever really finished near the top in any series he's competed in? Oh, and Millsaps finished 10th - you know, two places ahead of Summey.

So that makes Summey worthless? If everyone was in the top 5, there would only be 5 racers out there right? (you have to think about that one for a minute).

Some guys have "it" and some just don't. I've been watching a guy work his ass off, day in and day out - eating right, training, testing and putting everything he has into it. I've seen it with my own eyes.

And what did he get in Phoenix? 19th!

And Avidchimp - it doesn't matter AT ALL if Alessi has raced more than Davi. Burn-out is a personal issue. It is a mental aspect of a person - an individual.

Whoa, KGA, you're putting words in my mouth. I never said Summey was worthless, far from it. I'm sure he trains hard and is committed. But Yamaha336 is endorsing this guy for a factory Honda ride and I'm simply asking what warrants that. Should we be impressed that he finished 12th? I have no clue what the hell you're talking about with your top 5 rant, but it didn't seem to make much sense. People get on here and bag on Millsaps, Alessi, etc., and then prop up guys like Summey. I'm not sure I understand why.
