I am not seeing how it is the team management. Chase was just a turn away from winning Arlington, and with that woukd have won the whole championship the way the points played out. Instead he headcased and threw it away on the KTM and then blamed the bike . He win the second race of the SX season on the Kawi, looked good and was fast all day. The real issue is money…they simply can make more money racing in the US than GP’s if it were the other way around you would begin to see more US riders giving the GP’s a try and fewer GP riders willing to race in the US….

Well we already get close to true works bikes with the various “works edition” models each year. Also it’s been quite a long time since GP bikes were truly exotic, one off “works” machines. For example, KTM has been using basically production prototypes of the next model as their GP factory team bikes for probably over a decade. Others will have better info but to my recollection the last truly works bikes were the early 2000’s YZM500 that Everts rode and the KTM570 of Smets.
