Have you ever had what kyb calls the "needle guide" and "clip pen" out of the shaft. I have to replace my shaft and I am unsure how these two items are installed? I believe they are pressed in the top of the rod?

Il measure the shaft length forsure. One method I read about online is to count the total clicks before disassembly. When assembling turn in the rebound from full soft the the same ammount of click then thread on clevis till it bottoms lightly then barely snug the jam nut, back off several clicks and fully tighten. Can you advise me...

Has anybody done this? I have air/oil trapped behind my rebound needle and it won't stay down. I am going to try and make a shaft holder and use heat the remove the clevis. Anything I should know before starting? Also, I haven't been able to find a torque spec for the jam nut anywhere. I'm not sure if I...

Hi, what do you suggest for torque when using ca5 on stock yz250x clamps with oem spec of 15 ft lbs top and bottom? Should i reduce by 40% I am confused since in your install instruction for your clamps(yamaha) you are using 8/12nm. 60% of 15 ft lbs = 12.2 NM. What do you recommend I use on my...
New Yz250. I always clean the threads and nut with contact cleaner and torque to spec 92 ft lbs. I've had the wheel on and off a few times for various things. Everytime I remove the axle nut a bunch of Metalic powder is present. I figure it was just a bit of galling and some of the zinc coating...

Yes yamaha yz250x. I am going to bring the wheel to a shop and see if they will show me the correct tone. Do you have any idea why the yamaha torque spec is so low and if it shod be disregarded?

Common issue....try taking a torque spoke wrench to a new KTM with the correct torque settings. Like someone said earlier....you can have a true wheel or the proper spoke spec but not both at the same time. Wheel builders are worth the cost of their service. A built wheel from one of the wheel builders will be as close as you can get to proper torque spec and trueness.

Stock yz250 wheel. Any idea if I should be aiming for yamaha spec of 22 or excels spec of 48? With oile threads 20 give me a decent ping, definitely not loose but slightly lower pitch. 26 give me a very sharp ping.. I know it's heard ronsay over the internet but anything helps. I may try to see if...

I'm new at this and trying to learn how to properly lace and true a wheel. I even bought a truing stand and a spoke torque wrench, despite this I am having a hard time and second guessing if I have proper spoke tension First off I lubed the spoke nipple mating surface and spoke threads. I then tightend up...

Well it is definitely not in the service manual. I will email yamaha and see if they can provide one. There must be one otherwise how could you buy a complete wheelset and have it line up. Yes after some more measuring I agree with you, the swing arm is not symmetrical at all. The center of the tire lines...
Brand new bike. I noticed visually that the rear wheel seemed offset to the drive side of the bike.. When I measured from the rim to the inside of the sing arm there is 1/4 difference. The front is within 2mm. I don't beleive this is an issue with dirt bikes yet it still bothers me. Why dosen't yamaha have...
