Has anybody done this? I have air/oil trapped behind my rebound needle and it won't stay down.
I am going to try and make a shaft holder and use heat the remove the clevis.
Anything I should know before starting?
Also, I haven't been able to find a torque spec for the jam nut anywhere. I'm not sure if I snug it up with red loctite or if I am trying to torque it to a high number

Count how many total clicks you have. Measure from the end of the 12mm shank, down to the top of the jam nut, note this distance. When re assembling, match this distance once tight. Count your clickers again. It’s normal to be within 1-2 clicks! Be sure you use high strength high heat retaining compound when going back together.
Il measure the shaft length forsure. One method I read about online is to count the total clicks before disassembly. When assembling turn in the rebound from full soft the the same ammount of click then thread on clevis till it bottoms lightly then barely snug the jam nut, back off several clicks and fully tighten.
Can you advise me on how tight to go on the jam nut, typically torque would be fairly high on a 16mm nut but I'm worried about damaging the shaft by trying to torque to 100 ft lbs or something.
