Pursang Added a reply to Namur will never host a GP again...

I saw the last GP ever there and it was the best race I ever attended. That was the year Guaneri won the MX2 with a 5-3 or something equally bizarre. I read that it cost YS something like four times more to broadcast than other GP's because of the length of the track. Something along the lines of taking...

Pursang Added a reply to Can Cairoli please shut up?!

I always cringe when I either read that or hear it. The sport will never be the next NASCAR nor in my opinion should it be. Part of its allure in the 70's and 80's was it wasn't a stick and ball sport, it was unique and it didn't pretend to be something it wasn't. I know with acceptance comes...

Pursang Added a reply to Mike Alessi

They don't show him much but it appears as if he's stopped that looking behind him all the time. He seems to be looking ahead at his next pass for position instead of behind at who may be trying to pass him. Definitely a more offensive style of riding now instead of defensive. He had matured and is a good...

Pursang Added a reply to Osborne doing the ISDE

6/14/2013 2:58pm
Back when he was in England he ran at least one vintage event. He gave a few old bikes a good wringing out and he said he loved it. In this day and age when a lot of these kids never ride never take a bike off the track it's good to see what Osbourne is doing. Got a feeling...

I don't understand what's going on this year. I go to Alli and it sends me to NBC and asks me to log-in to my Verizon account. I do so and all it keeps doing is asking me for my log-in and password. If nobody has any tips I'll hunt for a contact email. Thanks.

Pursang Added a reply to Hangtown streaming situation

What's frustrating is that as a Verizon FIOS customer I should have access to it yet I didn't. I don't know who's at fault but in this day and age there simply shouldn't be problems such as this. Frankly in situations like this sufficient testing should have been done to insure customer satisfaction. I think what has so many people...

I was on Craigs List beginning my search for a decent Maico or Bul and ran across this. If I had already moved in to my house and had a garage I think I'd pick this puppy up myself. Ad says it runs and by the pic it looks in pretty good shape. This isn't my bike nor do I...

Does anyone have any info on the 250's that year? Things along the lines of reliability problems and if many were imported in to the country and anything you might think to add. I'm going to do some Vintage Racing next year (2008) and I'm thinking of getting one of these and a 1981 Yamaha YZ465 or Maico 490 for...

Pursang Started a new thread National Moto Lengths

1/24/2012 8:28am
When did they shorten the length of National Moto's? Was it when they ran all 3 classes on the same day and they needed more time to get all of the moto's in or what was the reason? I was away from the sport for quite a long time so I'm trying to get up to speed on all the...
I thought he asked for 1981? you had 84..[/quote:5e474] At first I didn't look at the date and I was scratching my head. It wasn't until I read your post that I went back and looked at the date. That's why I'm not on there!
I would sell it but, it was on of my few nationals that year - #113 Jim Edgar that is me http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i255/ ... le0001.jpg[/quote:3a52c] I can see why you wouldn't want to sell it and that's why I'm on this quest. My mom accidently threw out two huge boxes of my memories which contained all of the stuff from 1981...

Pursang Added a reply to National Moto Lengths

4/16/2016 6:01pm
Never could figure out why the AMA does half the shit they do, they tried to make it more spectator friendly I would assume by shortening the motos and having more "riders" racing at the 30 minute mark, instead of just the fittest rider at the 45 minute mark. Totally missed the whole idea what motocross was in MHO[/quote:d721b] I'll...
So, what are you used to? 3 20 minute motos or 2 45 minute motos?[/quote:fbce6] 81 and 82 Nationals we had 40 + 2 and the GP Support races were 20 + 2. Just can't figure out why they felt a need to shorten the National motos when they're supposed to be the ultimate outdoor test. The last 10 minutes...

We don't need no stinking front brakes! That thing looks nasty in a good sort of way that's for sure. Back in the mid-70's there was a place in Central PA that had a Sort Track and a MX. We'd slap on flat track tires and run the short track on Saturday night and then Sunday morning put the knobbies...
I got lucky, my racing partner worked for Greg at wheelsmith & did a lot of the pipe work & porting. so I got to watch learn form him. If you do get a 490, PM me & I'll tel you all the little tricks to do to the motor. as long as you promise to keep them under...
