Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like? Sideways
Those are your words, not his. What he wrote, although grammatically imperfect, was understandable. After re-reading through the thread, it seems you have issue with his opinion and not his grammar. Why you reduced the disagreement to an attack on his grammar (which you seemed to understand throughout the thread), only you can say. Personally, I can't explain your actions.

That particular post of his was written very poorly and you know it, I don't need to defend that. It has nothing to do with his opinion. That's all there is to it.

I've read a lot of poorly written shit before and still had a hard time reading what he said.
That rule implies more towards the use of text and internet language/slang that make a post hard to deceipher with normal English vocabulary. Or even spoken slang or dialect. It is far from the case in Matti's post. The fact that it is not his native language and tries to express himself, quite clearly by the way, has nothing to do with the rule you just used to back your argument. Was his post hard to understand? Hello no...

I don't know if you just want to back Gibby, or you're holding a personal vendetta against Matti. But his post was quite easy to understand with a little effort. And far from against the forum rules. That's just a BS argument.

Neither, it's a pet peeve of mine, I would have said this regardless of the poster. Thing is, it shouldn't take effort to read someones posts, they should put effort into making it legible.

Fair enough if it's a pet peeve. But i'm sure he tried t make it understandable. And in the end, the success of this forum is going international (good going gibby) so it becomes inevitable to put some more effort into reading certain posts. Unless you ignore them ofcourse. Wink

Holy shit.......this bus got steered way off course.

I'm always curious to hear the piss and moaner's ideas. So, Matti, do you have the sure fire fix for the GP's? And what is your plan to enact this change?

That Utah track looks bitchin. Especially the epic dust blowing off the wheels. I hope they leave it that way for the national.

When Caroll Spinney says his opinions true Big Bird then it is still Caroll Spinney' opinions not? Or are those immediately Big Birds opinions? So when Guiseppe' is saying his opinions true Cairoli it's still Guiseppe's opinions so don't come here and play this card.

I have a habit of that, which explains my lack of posts in the last four years. Laughing I have the utmost respect for guys from other countries who come on and can generally speak (or type rather) English pretty well, I think Matti's post probably could have made a bit more sense though, no biggie. I'll go back into hiding now.

Motocross is extremely rich in history and tradition. I for one think it is a mistake to ignore the things that have made motocross what it is in order to "grow the sport."

If you want to "grow the sport" make it cheaper for people to participate and open more areas to riding. If you don't do that, the sport is not going to grow.

Rather simple really.

I always cringe when I either read that or hear it. The sport will never be the next NASCAR nor in my opinion should it be. Part of its allure in the 70's and 80's was it wasn't a stick and ball sport, it was unique and it didn't pretend to be something it wasn't.

I know with acceptance comes better salaries for riders, mechanics, and other industry people. Still, with all that's been done to grow the sport it seems to be dying on the local level. Until you bring the sport back on the local level to what it once was the pro game won't "grow".

As far as Cairoli, he's entitled to his opinion. I just hope it's his opinion and not one based on a check he got from YS.

Okay, one last thing. I think you guys are taking this the wrong way. Of course it won't be the next NASCAR, but holding races at tracks with improved infrastructures is nothing but a good thing.

"We need places like that to grow the sport, new big sponsors want facilities like that"

Cairoli is 100% correct with this statement, facilities like this will help attract big sponsors. More outside sponsors = more fans and more money for the industry. When I tell someone that I race motocross, the usual reply is "What?" Which I think is ridiculous. So in that aspect yes, I want the sport to "grow." I'm sorry that you old timers don't want things to change. People shouldn't have to ride MX to be fan of MX, and facilities such as MMP should help bring new fans into the sport.

The upshot is , all of those people in the pics from last year , decided to stay home , what you need to ask is why.... dont buy the 'its because it was hot' bollocks , cos Germany is always hot in summer , which is why you can walk 20 paces and get an ice cold drink at pretty much every event you go to , and not have to queue for 20 mins to get served...

The sad thing is , the track was actually pretty gnarly , would have been good with a full grid . And a hill or two.
Indeed if I was a fan who went to Teuchental I'm sure it would have been a superb day, great view of the racing from those big hills, free to roam around grabbing food/drink from vendors as you say, mixing with all the other fans from different nations and getting caught up in the atmosphere and noise of the big race in that natural bowl etc

If then I was told that the venue was changing this year what would I be inclined to do? Check it out to find something completely different,a man made track where is have to watch sat down in the stand, its not what GP Motocross is to me so I'd make my decision and stay home, watching it on tv (empty stands and all)

If I want to sit on my arse and watch racing I'll do it properly and go to a Speedway GP unless I lived in the US and go to watch SX if I was more interested but MX for me has to have that outdoor Old School feel if you want to call it that, and all that go with it,who cares about about the "nicer" facilities with no atmosphere, lack of fans etc? This is MX at the end of the day, don't make it out to be something it isn't

Sponsors will soon see things differently if it got to a stage where there putting money into the sport and there's no fucker there I suspect,it doesn't look good on tv either

"A field with sticks" well if I had the choice-gimme that anyday,I don't even mind the odd bit of cowshit

He did , but it isnt the only track in Germany by a long shot.... they went to Gaildorf last year or the year before,my guess is the promotors were'nt interested with no German rider doing well , and Roczen skipping off to the USA, and this is the result.

we have tons of great tracks in germany...
teutschenthal is not even one of the best imo, let alone the track they stamped on the floor at lausitzring

I especially like this section:

One of the great attractions of motocross is that it is perhaps the only motorsport where you can get really close to the action. Fans can lean over the fence and cheer their heroes on. They can see the height that the bikes jump and they can experience, at close quarters, the awesome speed at which the riders traverse the terrain. They can see the lines they take, the depth and severity of the bumps and the lean angles in the turns. They can hear the strain of the engines and the chatter of the rear wheel under braking and even perhaps get a little roosted with dirt. They can also literally feel the presence and the power of the bikes as they race headlong into the first turn.

That is what motocross is all about.

That does it for me, I don't know about anyone else?

Indeed there are a ton of good tracks in Germany. Look at the ADAC races, the World Sidecar race, That MX2 championship you guys have... But also when a country has a MXDN on the MXGP schedule and there aren't capable to organize on a other great track then thats pity. Give that GP on Switzerland or something!

Do you know who worked to get the GP there last weekend? I am as old school as they come but I thought the track had a nice layout and I am glad it wasn't jump infested.

Also Max Anstie, Davide Guarneri and some others went down HARD!
natural tracks do the same god damn thing. you cant develop natural non dangerous bumps and holes when you ride a 2 wheeled 50hp motor cycle on them. how many guys do you eat shit every weekend in the nationals due to weird kickers that develop? i dont know about you but i see a whole hell of a lot. its part of the sport.

yes i agree the tracks suck, but your argument is weak IMO.
