With all the respect to Gajser, but when it comes to pure motocross, the Herlings have a heart of a lion, and you can't compare him to anyone on this planet, the previous racers or upcoming, no one, nobody wins races with broken shoulder or ankle, nobody will go out to defend tittle with basically unhealed broken femur. Nobody misses 4 motos in mxgp class and then win tittle anyway. Nobody laps in Lierop up to 2nd place, and finishes both motos by 2 minutes. As Jase said ''Jeffrey Herlings ladies and gentlemen.''

Yes, but it depends on whether you think titles are the most important metric in judging how great a rider is. Sometimes the number of titles match the overall greatness - think RV with 450 SX - but oftentimes not. Webb is the prime example. If anyone thinks he is a better SX rider than JS because he has 3 titles to the latter's 2, they are tripping on some very strong acid. The same applies for Gaiser. Gajser is a great rider and 5 time Champion, nobody can take that away from him, i am a big fan, and while i know he has won lots of races, he does it by getting good starts and amassing points, and very rarely crashing. And he is fast, no doubt. But i could say the same about Prado, i cant remember a race where i said ' wow that was unreal' simply because he gets starts and wins, but i dont remember him doing anything other than that ( i know he probably has) , its his...

KTM knew they had both classes and paid Herlings very well to stay down.

Herlings had a startcrash in Spain, the crash in the qualifying race in Argentina followed by a freak bike issue and the same chain DNF in Switzerland. So to call him 'lucky' is kind off misplaced. All ifs and btts. The others tho should be worried. I agree he has made a huge step in the winter.

I have never seen Herlings get gapped that easily in a sand race, ever. Especially when healthy. And I have seen him growing through the ranks since his 85cc days
