I did exactly this about a week ago. I had a new 450 that i wasn't taking seriously enough and it was just wearing me out because i was riding so infrequently. Decided to offload the 450 and step back to a smaller bike to ride with the family and start enjoying riding again.

Absolutely. I've been riding for over 20 years (trails mostly), and i did one day with Jimmy D and i'm like a completely new rider. Pointed out things that were so minor but made all the difference. Sometimes unless you video record yourself riding, it's hard to pinpoint what you aren't doing right.

A newer 125 is going to be much better than dealing with some old clapped out bike. I know if you don't have a good running 2-stroke or the know-how to tune it, its a big deterrent.
