There is certainly a subset of people who just want a "gotcha" on Trump, but there is a much larger slice of society who just want to see child rapists, and most likely worse, brought to justice no matter standing or popularity. The fact that some people around here are trying to justify why it's still being buried by saying "well so and so didn't do anything" is, to me, absolutely fucking reprehensible. Agreed. I’m simply stating why Iran would pursue a nuclear program. Israel is the sole possessor of nukes in the Middle East. Even the slightest hint that their monopoly could be unseated results in military action.

Why do people even talk like iran was about to launch nukes? US intelligence says they weren't even close to having nuclear weapons. Only one saying otherwise is Netanyahu, but hes keeps pumping up this threat for 30 years now and there has never been evidence to it.

As I mention above, the strength of nuclear capability lies in the threat, not the use. Once moving from threat into action, the value is gone, and a response many times more lethal will likely result. 9 countries have nuclear weapons programs, yet only one has deployed them, for one reason: no one could retaliate with similar force. Nukes are deterrents with immense influence, and a nuclear armed Iran would offer a protective shield no standing army can match.

Iran’s nuclear ambitions are defensive. Need an example? Let’s look at the current situation. Think Israel and the US have second thoughts if Iran had nuclear capabilities? In fact, Iran’s entire balance of power in the Mid East would shift. They don’t want a nuke to use against its enemies; they just want the threat. And the threat is much more powerful than the deployment.
