mx98wfo Started a new thread KTM, Husky, GasGas Future??

What does the future of KTM, Husqvarna, and GasGas look like now that Bajaj owns these brands? I'm curious about parts availability, pricing, and what that means for us as buyers. Most dealers seem to have good deals on bikes, but is this just a push to clear out inventory before some big changes happen?

So, what a lot of this translates to is that the employees, creditors, and dealers are fucked? Race teams are OK for now, the rich executives will still be rich, but they don't need people to build bikes when nobody is buying, dealers can't sell bikes from a company in receivership, and the creditors can't get blood from a turnip......I still contend that 1190 Adventurer was the worst piece of shit I have ever owned in 59 years on this planet and the national service exec I talked to was an arrogant asshole. Shame about the dirt bikes though.

Keefer Testing just talked about this on one of his last podcasts. His son is riding 125’s and they tested both but decided that the Yamaha is the better bike as the chassis and suspension are better and it’s easier to go fast on a good chassis with less motor.

Tell that to the 3 guys I know that have the New KTM 85 and the crank issue’s they all have had. I understand all brands have their problems but really parts twice as much is not called for. I also have 15 years of experience as a KTM tech in a dealership so my burger flipping is very good...

I am just starting to feel like the KX85 is the way to go the price of the bike is almost $2,000 less and parts are a lot cheaper. Between the idle gear issue on these bikes and the added cost of parts this is disappointing.

Not the case these KTM cranks are only lasting 30 - 35 hours that seems the average range for all the oem’s.

I have done a lot of research and these prices are high. Even with a discount they are still high. Also for the premium price that the bike is and added cost for parts KTM seems to be winning in this game.
