My dumb dog ate (chewed up and swallowed) one of my pygmy date palms over a few weeks. Then he pulled it out by the roots and ate those. Here he is, too dumb to know he's in trouble.

Bonnie living the dream at ride camp, where leashes are not allowed. Hard to tell who has more fun, the dogs or the riders. (It’s definitely the dogs)

I rode Bicycles one way - RH Rear, and MCs, of Course, RH front, from the 60s to around 2003/4. I'd get on one, know what I was on, and, ride. Never a problem. But, my riders on my DH and XC teams, even being in OZ, had MC style. So, them , or many others taking my own bikes for a test ride, would tend to Eat S**t! And well me, trying their bikes, would do the same....... 🥵 That, combined with my destroying my hand mid season 03 , necessitating a change over and, as well, having to...

Sorry for putting so much in Your Build post, but, thinking about my plate suggestion at the V notch, perhaps, if you do some hard mounts for a bash / glide plate, you could do something like this, to reinforce that V area. It's a crap picture, but, you can see that the RH mount (pictured left) goes further - that was to cross over a (much smaller) divot I put into the original SA casting / Cradle tube joint to allow clearance for a CR500 case. Though, your lower rear engine mount solution might preclude this : :

Weld Problems - sometimes you'll have them for inexplicable reasons / won't find Any reason / or, 'discover' just the one thing being 'off'. I've TIG welded since 1974 - from using the most basic of machines, through to, at a mates place, a new model , top of the range Kempi, with all the bells and whistles. And, I don't really like it. I basically turn off near every 'feature', and get on with it. I'm Old and Set In My Ways, I guess. Oh, and then I get exposed to the Machinery the 2 Unis I teach 'Baby...

Not too much progress. I have a crude home built sandblast cabinet that I can assemble/disassemble in 10 minutes. I hate sandblasting. Got the frame, subframe, both hubs and handlebar done.

Do not EVER say "Just one more moto...." or anything even similar. In fact, don't even think it. If you do, you will yard sale. This applies to surfing, snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, etc.

How much more would it cost to toss a chunk of billet mag in the CNC vs a chunk of aluminum? Or you could do like the guy did with the CRF450 and have molds made to cast your own mag hubs.Smile or a magnesium swingarm and linkage?
