I just passed the 12.5 years to go mark. 12.5 years, minus 2 days and I'll retire at 68. Probably going to do a "soft retirement" and work part-time somewhere while my wife pads her pension, then we're selling the home and leaving CA with the proceeds. The charges seem appropriate but I would want to know many more details before passing any kind of judgement. Prosecution also has to prove their actions started the fire. Anybody that just bites off on anything one of these news programs say needs look at their track record for stuff like this. It's abysmal. They can fuck up a baseball score.

Short term, it's giving me time to catch up on the stages of the, Vuelta de Espana, that I've missed over the weekend. Long term, one of the smartest things that Jenn got us doing was, short term rentals in the Gatlinburg area. Two are quite profitable. One breaking even. And not living, stupidly, beyond our means for the past two decades. Other than H-Vac related stuff, being able to maintain our house and cabin myself is a huge money saver at times. After locating the whole position, I drilled and tapped the swing arm to accept the new shock mount position bolt. And and then did a second mock up, mounting the swing-arm in the frame and bolting the shocks into place and test fitting the outer shock mount bracket. Which I will have to weld on this weekend. I’m pretty happy with the results.
