Oh yeah, that's right. I remember reading that before. Thank you for the reminder. When I install the throttle housing, I will slide it all the way down, and then back it up a bit. That way I know for sure it is not all the way down.
Thank you!! I knew it had to be something simple! That will allow the entire throttle assembly to just slide off, right?
Hey everyone. I'm replacing my stock '18 yz250f handlebars and grips this weekend. I have figured out how to remove everything except the throttle. I know this is a stupid question, but how do I get the throttle off? I don't see any bolts to remove that ... more »

Thank you for your suggestions. Other have also said it could be a hydrolock problem. Some have also mentioned vaporlock.
There is definitely oil in the bike. I just changed it not too long ago.
Thank you for the new suggestions. I talked to the dealer I bought the bike from and he said it could be vapor lock. I'm also thinking it could be hydro lock like a few have suggested because I did wash the bike a couple days before. Perhaps too much ... more »
I was coming down a straight into a corner. At the exit of the corner, I rolled the throttle on hard and nothing... The bike just quit.
I really hope it is something simple. I really don't see how it would be something in the motor. I'm definitely on the newer side when discussing rider skill level and I haven't even come close to reving the bike out.
Thank you for your responses to far. This is very weird. I'm going to look at everything that you all have suggested so far, but it is strange how these things could affect the kick starter. It's probably because I don't understand something.
I have not removed the fuel tank, but I'll still check the fuel line. Thank you.
Thanks. I'll check that. Would an issue with the fuel filter cause the kick starter to not move though?
Note: I posted this in the Tech Forum as well. Hello, I was riding on Saturday and suddenly my engine quit and I couldn't get the bike restarted. This happened during my first lap. As I was trying to get it started, I noticed pressure building in the ... more »

Thank you everyone for your thoughts. I have learned from everyone's comments. After reading everything, I am leaning towards keeping the KTM and adjusting the power-valve and changing the gear. The stock gearing on the KTM is 14/50, so I am thinking ... more »
I have fun on both, but I ride the 250f much better than the 250sx.
I'll keep this in mind and get the KTM out and figure out what I want to do. Thanks.
That's just it. I have always thought a 250 2t should be ridden wide-open most of the time, which I don't do. I do love the KTM, but I guess I've been unsure about how to ride it. I'm going out to my usual track next Wednesday if the weather cooperates, ... more »
Hi all. I need some suggestions as to what I should do with one of my bikes. I have a '17 KTM 250 SX and a '18 YZ250F. I got the Yamaha after I got the KTM because I realized the KTM wasn't really the right bike for me; the main thing is I can't ride ... more »

When you say the bike is screaming in 3rd, are you saying that it is too fast, or are you talking about the RPMs?
