Correct size yes. I wouldn't bother posting if it wasn't serious. My family and I wont really see the affects of this other than property damage to our apartment in Cairns. But this is a serious, serious storm. We don't really have any idea what is coming.

Jeffro they've changed their expected timings because the Cyclone has sped up. It's due in about 9 hours and unfortunately will coincide with the high tide now Shocked

Latest update - Storm surge expected to be up to 6.5 to 7 metres (over 21 feet) Winds of 295kmh were recorded just before the recording equipment was destroyed. It is also expected that the storm will still be rated as Cat 3 tomorrow morning 200km inland.

Dave it's about 16 hours til landfall. Currently it is about 600 kilometres out to sea but can be seen from the coast already. The storm surge is expected to be over 5 metres but it's all a bit unknown as this is the biggest cyclone to hit the mainland, thankfully it will be low tide. Last night it was...
