He was a great rider, in an era when there were so many great riders.. never made it to full factory machinery, but he was always up there at the sharp end, at a time when Belgium had Malherbe, then Gebeors and Jobe . Like Smets, he didnt come up through the smaller classes , but appeared in the 500 class, and was a solid performer . No age to go, RIP Dirk

I don't mind when people throw their opinion out there once in a while. I find it interesting and I like to hear different view points. Ping's twitter is the complete opposite of the right way to do it though. Was a fan but can't follow or support what he does anymore. Not that I think everything he says is wrong but it's too much.

people that are intolerant of other's views need to stay off social media. in my opinion, social media is causing more division than any of the actual issues in the world.

I disagree. I don't take banning political talk (along with other things) on this forum as some kind of attack on freedom of speech. But there's a place and there's a time, and this is isn't it, that's all. I am sure there are plenty of other places on the internet where I can have those kinds of discussions. I think that most would agree that going to the library, standing on a chair, and yelling "You gotta fight, for your right, to paaaar-tyy" would be frowned upon. At the Beastie Boys concert?
